This friends is just a special human….. more talent in his pinky toe than my entire family tree. unfortunately the mold was broken when he was created, because musicians can try for decades to duplicate this greatness but it just isn’t possible. Thank you for the upload 👍

Great performance by a songwriter at the top of his game. A tiny bit surprised at the amount of covers and talking blues songs in this performance but hey, his set list his audience

It's funny right? I think it shows how irreverent he was as an artist. What would be a milestone for most performers was just another night on the road for him. You can tell by his banter too. "Notice my fingers never leave my hands"... what a punk. What a genius.

Thanks a lot! This is really great and I've been listening to it constantly, but does anyone know anything about the video broadcast of this? There's a snippet in 'Be Here To Love Me ', but I can't find the complete broadcast anywhere. I imagine it would be a great seller if ACL did an official release. 🎸 -Rest Easy Townes- 🎸

He was a great picker for a while. Some people say demon whiskey took him away too soon, but I think maybe we wouldn't have had Townes without it. I mean if he had been medicated for his depression he may have been a very different person.

Townes referred to himself as a folksinger, first and foremost. Obviously I cannot speak for him but I don't think he was interested in being a polished performance artist. He had bigger fish to fry and demons to battle than to worry about what the critics had to say. Music and songwriting was his therapy. His guitar was his meal ticket. "Fame and fortune just laughed at me and then silence once again."
