Yes! Both are involved, I'd say. Yet, the gold shines brighter through the veil of hard-earned mudd. ✨️🃏 🎰

I knew both Townes and Mickey but Mickey was the most helpful to me when I moved to austin, helping me get gigs, introducing me to Lucinda and Pat Mears (his soon to be wife). We reconnected after his autobiography came out.

Mickey used to hang in the apartment my first wife and I shared in Austin in the late 60's. Used to get him high and listen to his great playing. That's when I first heard Townes tunes. He took me out to meet Townes in Clarksville, but Townes was really drunk and out of it. sezTop

Mickey White was the consummate side man - his guitar always complimented TVZ (and a few nights carried Townes in a state) - The Hemmer Ridge Mountain Boys we’re regulars at Anderson Fair down off of Studemont back in day - Great stuff - Great video - thanks for sharing

Grew up in Houston - saw Townes many times - there - in the Austin area - a few times where there were just a handful of people there - Some of the most memorable times was at a place called Cheatem Street Warehouse in San Marcos Texas - I hired him to play a couple of events in SM in the early 80s - he was in the Austin phone book - just called and ask what he would need to play - saw him other places as well - e.g., “Folk City” in NYC - Boston (a few times) - Him and Guy Clark were always some of the best ((Jerry Jeff Walker, Willie) - loved this video - Mickey White was more often than not backing him up - I don’t think it showed up on records - but they were tight -

Just started reading it. My dad worked with Mickey at Bert Wheeler's liquor in Houston, TX back in the day. Great to see footage of him after hearing him so much in some of my favorite stuff especially the lineup they had with Townes, Mickey and Donny Silverman.
