Perri Nemiroff chats with The Toxic Avenger director Macon Blair at Fantastic Fest 2023!
A remake of the 1984 Troma classic, Blair's Toxic Avenger stars Peter Dinklage as the title character, Winston Gooz, a janitor just trying to make a good life for his stepson, Wade played by Jacob Tremblay. While in pursuit of that, Winston endures a horrible toxic accident that transforms him into the mop-wielding hero, The Toxic Avenger.

I just rewatched ''I don't feel at home in this world anymore'', and watched for the first time in my life Blue ruin. And now with the sneak peak they just released i can only say that whatever Macon Blair touches, turns into gold. This man is a genius, and as a Toxie fan i can't wait to watch his take on Toxic Avenger. Bring IT!

The way macon shouts out his collaborators throughout the creative process, props to him for that! This film is legitimately towards the top of my list of anticipated flicks to see & has been since this project was announced. To see all the love coming out of Fantastic Fest for Toxie just warms my heart. Also, Perri, you kill it like you do in every interview, amazing questions as always, thank you both!

Macon Blair has acted, written and directed some excellent films, I'd watch everything he's involved in. Plus the Toxic Avenger films are great fun.

Yoooooooo! That T-shirt she's wearing!!!!! Hilarious. I remember that line in that God-awful Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie and it definitely stuck with me. LOL, glad I wasn't alone.

Ever since seeing Blue Ruin I've always watched for the next thing Macon Blair's working on, whether behind or in front of the camera. I was unfamiliar with the 1984 original, but nevertheless I'm looking forward to seeing this.
