Let the Spirit lead you to a real church family. 2 Corinthians 3:17 - Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM. Matthew 7:16 - By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? If you ever find your “church” is not reflecting biblical scripture and is not practicing what it preaches or is just utterly misconstruing the message of The Word and is leading His flock astray..break free from that place. ✌️

But yes, the ICOC is specifically spiritually abusive. Other types of abuse also took place with either leaders or other members but were swept under the rug (financial, sexual, physical, etc.) This is also applicable to many other cults across denominations and faiths
