For some reason I have a harder time hitting air rockets right now. I bought a new mouse, but my air rockets was spot on at my girlfriends... Now I'm at my place and have been for a few weeks and still don't seem to get it quite right. First I thought is was because I'm running 144hz instead of 60hz like on her screen. But I've tried out 60hz on my screen and I don't really know if that is it. I have no trouble at all hitting air rockets in quake live, so I don't really know whats going on. Could it be that they changed the speed? Or could it be that I played around with mouse accel? I still have a cap of the sense so it shouldn't affect that much. I have extremly subtile accel.

Its just a different engine i am the same way bro . . i was an air rocket master and railgun god , now have to rework on all that again and find what mouse sensitiviy i want

Whatever you do, plz dont play at 60hz :D QC has always been weird in terms of engine, and hitting air rockets is much harder then the rocket speed would make you beleive. Rockets are faster then any previous Quake, yet it looks and feels slower then Q1 rockets.

Plebmeister Yeah. When not hitting them I kind of suck because I rely on hitting them. Tried lowering the fov and now it was easier, but I hate making bigger changes from what I'm used to.

7:07 150 IQ play. he timed the rocket spam and used the rocket to bounce him in the air for longer airtime. holy crap

He didn't take any damage, so it was not the rocket that boosted him.

he did time the rocket tho and used the wall jump to his advantage. That was a smart play non the less.

That's typical quake tactics. Randomizing the rocket spam, switching to other weapons, counting the enemy's rockets if it was picked a short time before, etc - that's quake, not the stupid CS-like games.
