Without a doubt, that tone from that tele is lethal. I love it. The sound equipment and cameras were better then than now in my opinion. Real sound looks better too. Good old HD super-vhs

A well underated band outside of the PUNK ROCK circuit....!! I remember when I first heard them in 1980, and later seeing them play at 2""up in Plymouth Devon UK (( a local nite club for PUNK'S and gig venue.. One of my locals ,king Kurt basement bar free haircuts meteor's klubfoot upstairs a crafty beer with Lemmy on the ground floor bar in the week I was a lucky bugger I've even played in the basement with a couple of punk bands ( drums) good old days 🇬🇧🍀🥳👍🏼

It's news to me that the Toy dolls did the Clarendon (Klub Foot) in 87. they played there in 85 and 86 and the 87 gig was Camden Dingwalls. Then that was it for 26 years until the Electric Ballroom in 2013

I really don't know how this song is supposed to make me feel. The subject matter is so out-of-nowhere I feel like it's supposed to be comedy, but words and tone of it come across surprisingly tender and human to me, despite the Toy Dolls sort of always sounding like they're doing a pisstake. The story's kind of sweet and kind of pathetic at the same time. EDIT: One year later, I learn this song is in reference to some TV soap opera called Crossroads, which was pretty much infamous for being drivel. That explains the vibe of the song a bit better.
