As somebody who has experienced hair loss I’m so happy that Mattel is coming out with a doll without hair. It is teaching younger kids that everybody is beautiful no matter how they look hair, no hair, vitiligo, prosthetic leg/arm, etc

The Sagittarius Rat I love Barbie for that reason! I mean, they use to just have The same blonde Underweight Barbie, and I am so happy they have changed! I have the Fashionista with the prosthetic leg and she is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to add the girl a without hair to my collection. She is stunning!😍

Laura Garcia it would be easier to teach kids with a toy A lot more kids have fun with toys so if you teach them to be kind *with* toys then they might learn faster and it won’t make them so bored about learning

Mattel needs to make more articulate dolls. Especially, the boy dolls. Love the faces of the dolls but not the cheap bodies.

Maricella Wright I really hope they make more of them and drop down into the Barbie made to move price. I can't afford to buy the mtm barbies as is, I've been starting to use the wild hearts crew dolls for customs. The articulation is similar to monster high

Marcel the point is, no one looks like that. While classic blonde Barbie is and always will be iconic and well loved, it's alright to have other dolls. I love Barbie and appreciate her for what she is but I really do love what Mattel is doing with creating new bodies, skin tones, new hair types and colors. Everyone looks good in clothes that fit them/are tailored to them. Not everyone has brush-able silky hair, like those with kinky, curly types. It gives kids confidence from a young age when they see dolls that match them, doing the things they want to do. Like a male mermaid doll, judge Barbie and firefighter Barbie, a doll with vitiligo, a doll with rainbow hair, and African American doll with fair skin and light hair

Marcel the new Barbie and ken dolls are selling really well. I'm a Barbie collector of the "fantasy" kind of barbies but I know when I was kid I customized my dolls all the time to look like the kind of dolls Mattel is selling now. I wanted a curvier red headed doll that looked like my mom, I wanted a doll with tattoos and colored hair, the way I look now, I wanted a mermaid ken. Some kids like the realism and some kids like the like supermodel barbie. Not every child plays the same and there has been demand among parents, children, and adult collectors for more inclusive toys and dolls. It's okay to want super skinny, blonde Barbie but it's also okay to want other toys to play with. Some kids don't like makeup and heels. Some children are bald. Some children have parents, teachers, neighbors, and friends who look that way. Some children do not have eyes and have other disabilities and seeing toys that represent them makes them feel comfortable and confident. Representative dolls also help to normalize different types of people to other children, decreasing bullying and discrimination. Every child wants to play in a fantasy world, but sometimes they want their superheroes and princesses to look like them.

I am of the "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!!!" mentality with a lot of this lol. I remember having a gymnastics barbie back in the day... Probably in the early to mid 90s... 🤔 I remember her being unique in that she had flat, larger feet, and that she had poseable knees and elbows. Was hi-tech for a barbie back then! 🤣

Cave Club looks cute. The color reveal Chelsea dolls might be fun. Glad to see lots of new stuff coming out. I was hoping more lines would start using smaller/less wasteful packaging but it doesn't look like it from what I can see.
