If you're never traveled in Japan before, and you'd like a recommendation on where to stay (lodging), consider the Toyoko Inn...for MANY reasons!

I stayed at a Toyoko Inn in Osaka earlier this year and really liked it. Cosy room, good location, good breakfast and hospitality. When I was there at the end of the breakfast service, the chefs and receptionists would all stand in a row in front of the customers and thank them dearly. "どうもありがとうございました!"

My Japanese sales manager took me to stay in Toyoko Inn, which he said was best for value and connivence, and I endorse the value.

thanks for this video, I'm thinking of staying at a toyoko inn in Shinjuku, the place looks very cheap and it looks pretty convenient. glad to know that's a good chain.

Hi! I checked out Tokoyo Inn, but it seems they only let me book it for 7 days max. I need it for 10 days, though. any advice? :)

Hi there. What area of Japan are you considering staying in? If it's a large city, there are usually multiple Toyoko Inns. There have been times that I spent 6 days in one Toyoko Inn in Asakusa and then 6 days in another, in Asakusabashi, 6 blocks away from the first hotel.

@@carlrosa1130 thanks for the advice! It sounds as if I have no choice but to change hotels after the 7th day if I want to stay in Tokoyo... I'm going to spend 10 days in Tokyo!

Or you could make a second reservation for the same hotel starting on day 8. Check out on the morning of day 8, ask them to hold your luggage at the front desk, and check in that afternoon to your new room. (They have the 7-day rule so they can deep-clean your room. Don't ask for an exception to the rule so you can avoid packing and unpacking on day 8; they will most likely say no and if they say yes, you might not get the proper number of Club points.)

Are the beds as hard as some reviewers have said, or are they just very firm?
@carlrosa11304 ай бұрын
I have to tell you - the beds ARE firm. They mattresses aren't as solid as concrete...but firm. I'm assuming that some people really love a very soft, plush mattress so the contrast would be a rude awakening. I had one person on a tour tell me - "Carl, the reviews online said the mattresses were super firm, but I was expecting much worse. They aren't bad." And when it comes to the pillows: one is a buckwheat husk on one side and regular cotton stuffing on the other side. The other options (like the APA Hotels) are the same - same mattresses, same pillows. If you have any other questions, just let me know. I stay in about 35 different Toyoko-Inns every year in Japan. I'm happy to help you.

@@carlrosa1130 Thanks. I've stayed at the APA Narita and didn't have any problem. Some people are making it sound like the Toyoko Narita is literally like sleeping on the floor. If it's just very firm, I can deal with that and it's better for the back anyway. Do all the toyoko hotels have the same or very similar beds? I will be staying at their kawaguchiko hotel too, which has received very positive reviews, as have the narita hotels

@@gato7908Gotcha. I've climbed to the top twice. I'll never, ever, ever, ever do it again. Enjoy your time at Kawaguchiko. FYI - there's a GREAT restaurant near the Kawaguchiko town hall named 'Fresh Water' - phenomenal, inexpensive, delicious and well worth the visit. Just an FYI. Enjoy Gato!!!!!! 🤓
