Suddenly, I lost 6Kg. Really.
We built an underfloor fire pit in the courtyard.
I have been longing to build a fire pit in the garden, so I am very happy to have completed it. It would be a shame if it was just a fire pit, so we also built a BBQ grill with it.
I really wanted to make the veranda and the patio side at the same height, but I had to lower the patio side a little to avoid rainwater problems, so I gave up.
However, I think I was able to achieve the sense of unity I was aiming for.
In any case, the work was not to be underestimated, as it required thorough physical labor as well as a great deal of precision.
As always, I admire civil engineering and other craftsmen.
So.
We rented a jumbo for one day because we had absolutely no room in our budget. I thought it would have been much easier if we had a shovel car until the end, but I wanted to use the budget for renting a shovel car for something else, so I did my best.
As usual, we used mainly scrap wood, so even including the cost of renting a shovel car, the cost was only about $400, so we were very satisfied.
However, we also made a burst of mistakes. There were many things we could learn from our failures, and I think it was a good experience for us to gain skills. Above all, I was very happy to see smiles on my family's faces.
If I were to ask a contractor to build a subfloor fire pit like this, I would probably be asked to pay $10,000, and I would be afraid that the finished product would be completely different from what I expected, wouldn't I?
But if you make it yourself. ^_^
You can make it exactly as you want. And if you can't make it exactly how you want it, you can just give up a little bit, complete it, and make it again at a later date.
Again, it wasn't easy, but in addition to the completed underfloor fire pit, I gained some valuable skills!
