Little Light it has instant torque with the hybrid system it came out with, drive one they feel like a Tesla from launch, after 35-40 engine kicks in.

That GT-FOUR is fast! Don't have quite the power to take on the R35, which I kinda expected and the driver of the GS450h is beating so many other people so effortlessly.

If you look up the specs it's a bit surprising that he is doing that well to be honest. However they do market it as a luxury vehicle & Lexus has always brought the heat. On the other hand it's not to surprising since it is a Toyota at the end of the day.

It can easily have enough tho. People push 3s-gte for drag racing up to 800bhp in MR2's and GT-Four Celicas. Toyota itself used 3s-gte in heavily modded form in JGTC Supra beating Skyline's(which has inline-6's), NSX's(V6) and McLaren F1's(V12) easily. With at first 641bhp and then 441bhp(because of regulations). So its a great fourbanger that can kick ass of bigger engines when tuned right.

To everyone asking "why race in the rain?". This is in the Netherlands. If we start canceling events due to rain, nothing will ever happen... BTW, the GS has a trick up its sleeve. In sports mode you can hold down both the brake and accelerator. The ICE will rev up so when you let go of the brake you'll be launched by E-motor and ICE both. Toyota/Lexus don't publish the maximum torque since they say it's only achieved very briefly and thus would be misleading. However from experience I can say that it's enough to boost you off the starting line very, very quickly.

If anyone has the chance to drive a Lexus LS600h (doesn’t matter which year) then just do it ! You won’t believe its „just“ a 5.0L V8 on that 2.3 Ton ! Ship (2.6 tons with 4 seat package in extended wheelbase edition)

Lars Mars Cars absolutely yes, the 2013 GS450H will be my next car. It’s not the LS600h, but I will take him in Präsident Line, (fully equiped here in Austria). I can buy a LS600h but not afford because of the insane Taxes here in Austria. Its way different to Germany 😥

Drifty king well heck a lot of people forget or don’t even know that the celica was one of the best/affordable cars you can get with good power and speed back in the day. And reliability was amazing on the older models as well. Not to mention if it wasn’t for the celica brand, there would have never been a Supra brand.

@@trysplendid56 Wasn't an issue for anyone else. I say he had terrible technique because he made the amateur mistake of fully dropping the clutch immediately. When you do that, you get almost no power for a few seconds

God damn that Lexus is killing everyone!!! That battle between the Celica and GT-R madness!!!!! The celica got the sickest launch ever but that GT-R powered through!!!! Awesome just awesome!!! Sometimes, a loss is a victory. For the Celica that loss was heroic which made it a victory for many.

Racing in wet roads , no fun at all . What good is it to have all that power and not be able to put it to the ground . This is where front wheel drive has the advantage against rear wheel . Due to front weight is able to grip without hesitation .

Can't tune those much. The "gearbox" limits the engine's power if it.. well.. can't push against it. There's a thread about swapping in a torsen LSD with a higher final drive ratio on the russian club lexus forums. That's it as far as drivetrain goes. Still ridiculously fast, especially if you launch with the engine on (brake and throttle pressed at the same time, release throttle)...

Prius FWD, GS RWD, Prius 300hp. GS450h has instant torque due to its electric engine.

@@natnut2008 The 2nd gen prius owns every stock 320i driver and almost keeps it's own with a 330d(experienced it first hand). I'm talking about the two (if not more) MG parts in the drivetrain. It outclasses almost everything everything, even that subbie in a longer run. Also it's a CVT, so the engine can stay at peak performance most of the time. My point is that the outcome of the gs450h and it's rival standup was obvious from the day toyota decided to make that model.

Simply because the track isn't long enough. This is on the main straight of TT Circuit Assen (The Netherlands), which is about 1700 feet long. If they would race 1320 feet (1/4 mile) there would not be enough track left to slow down.
