Just got a 2024 RAV4 XLE Hybrid. I have been driving a 2007 Toyota Solara, so this is way beyond technically what the Solara was. Thank you for some explanations on what some of the buttons are. You explained very well. Thank you.

Just got a 2024 Rav 4 Woodland edition. Took it to Mammoth mountains in CA. (Eastern Sierra) Full blizzard on the way up. Kept it on TRAIL. Did not need chains. Awesome!

I just purchased a 2023 Toyota RAV 4 XLE Premium AWD. I luv it ❤all the features. I’m still playing around with the different drives. But I’m here in Minnesota where it does snow a lot during the winter inspite of barely any snow this year.

Thank you for this video very informative!Now I know the differences between eco, normal and sport mode in my Highlander 2023.

I drive my hybrid in eco mode and sometimes without… I use the pulse and glide method and I think you’re right. I still het about the same MPG in both modes yet. I’m going to try sport mode , although that’s not very economical on acceleration from a full stop.

I think you’ll be surprised. I find sport actually does better

I wanted to express my sincere gratitude for the informative videos you create. I truly appreciate the effort you put into sharing your knowledge with us. I am the proud owner of a European RAV4 GR plug-in (known as Prime in the US), I now drive exclusively in EV mode when in town, up to 70 km. Beyond that, I switch to HV mode. With this approach, I have successfully achieved an impressive 105 km of pure electric driving. Warm regards from Belgium 🇧🇪

My 2024 Crown Max has EV on or off. Crown does not have HV mode? I am always in Sport S or Sport S+ and leave EV on in the muti-media menu (I do not have an EV button)

So glad that we found your channel. We just bought a RAV4 2023LE. I have a question. Even when I’m in the normal mode the eco symbol will appear on the left side of the speedometer while driving. Why is this and is that normal?
@TrainerSteveClifford10 ай бұрын
Glad you are enjoying the channel. Yours is a common question. There are two "eco" lights on the dash. One is to show when you're in the eco mode. The other lights up when you are driving in an economic manner. It will come on and off as you get into the throttle. It just lets you know you're doing a good job at conserving fuel. If yours is a hybrid, you might want to check out my video on the "pulse and glide" driving technique. In some circumstances, you can actually get better mileage in the sport mode.

what does that nob do - press Normal? some models has a coin tray instead.

Hi Steve, Off topic but If you remote start with fob than disable fob. Will the vehicle still stay on? Can you start with app with fob disabled?

My 2024 toyota corolla se switches modes in the middle of a mode from sport to eco

From Sport to Eco? It is possible that you're bumping the button but more than likely, you're seeing the ECO indicator light, although I've never seen one in sport mode show that light. Here's an explanation: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/nMWHfdSGuarWmGw.html

Hi Steve. I am working my way through your videos and I have a question: I picked up my RAV4 PHEV last Friday. I need to get some engine miles on the car but the car wants to use all of the EV before running the engine - I may die before I get the petrol engine up to 1,000 miles, at this rate. Is there a way to force the engine to drive the car, without calling upon the EV battery power? I don't want to run in Sport with an engine that's only driven 20 miles. David in the UK
@TrainerSteveClifford2 ай бұрын
If you hit the "EV/HV" button next to the shifter, that will put it in the conventional hybrid mode which will run the gas engine and save the EV charge for later. Now... a hybrid still takes off with the electric motor but the gas engine will kick in quickly. Also, don't hesitate to use the sport mode as well. The makes the throttle more responsive and improves the steering feel as well.

Thank you Steve - a very rapid response to my question!

Does the sport mode also put 10% of the power to the rear axle in gas models like it once did or does it not do that anymore?
@TrainerSteveClifford11 ай бұрын
I’m actually not sure. I would bet that the more aggressive throttle will end up getting the rear and involved more often but I don’t have a specific number for that
@ih8momjokes17 ай бұрын
This is false for 90% of cars which aren't hybrid. Sport increases rpm and uses more gas and coasts in a lower gear essentially not "gliding" all that much
@TrainerSteveClifford7 ай бұрын
Ummmm… yeah. Pulse and glide is a technique for driving hybrids. I thought that I communicated that.
