So i bought a GT86, i wanted something sporty but needed 4 seats, I didn't have a giant budget and didn't want a hot hatch as I really wanted to cement my midlife crisis, buying this car is hands down the best thing I have ever done, we have the absolute best fun every single day, am I a rally driver? NO, but every single day going round a roundabout or at a junction I can make the back end swing out Dukes of Hazard style, my kids scream with laughter and i never feel like I'm putting them in danger, if you want bang for your bucks buy a brz or 86, it even cured my erectile dysfunction...

Other FRS/GT86 isn't that expensive it's 26,000 I just got one for my high school graduation and what they say is so true, it really does out a smile on your face when you drive it, I find myself constantly smiling since my father bought me it. I haven't smiled this much in years it's not only an excellent car it brought me joy again after a rough few years in my life.it is truly a mods booster. I absolutely love it and no matter how many tuners hate it's lack of speed i don't care it's amazing

Rule No1 - Do not accept anyone's opinion. Discover things for yourself. I read all reviews, I was skeptical when I heard that the car was underpowered, and than I test drove one. To be honest, it has platy of punch for what you will be using it for. I struggle to keep the car within the speed limit. It pulls well and it is exhilarating. I bought mine with the aero kit and I am freaking in love with it. If you need more power, you have some serious issues.

Gt86 might have its shortcoming, but oh man what a car! Gt86 worthy of AE86 successor!

I don't speak one bit of German but if I had to guess the majority of what he was saying was probably praising that easy drift capability, which is fucking awesome.

The whole idea of this car is to enjoy the way it drives, bhp is not everything, you can drive this car like an ass & not break the speed limit, power slides at 30 mph what's not to like

My dream this car

Taking mine on track for first time next weekend. Feels a touch slow in everyday use but when you take it by the scruff of the neck, it flies! Should be good.

It is hard to say which was more fun. The S15 200SX/Silvia (when new) or the Toyota 86. Although technology has increased a fair bit since I bought my new S15, they are still two of the best driver's cars for the $$$. I do love the steering wheel on the 86 though. And the interior is far better.

Shifting the gear with a smile at 6.40 was priceless!!

***** The base GT model interior is a bit fruity, though the GTS model takes it up a few notches and in my opinion, one of the best interiors I've seen in a car for this price range. I don't want to start an old flame war, but saying people have bad taste for liking a vehicle that's won car of the year is a bit funny.

I've ordered one 3 months ago and I can't wait for it to be delivered. I dream about it at night!

Im looking at getting one of these, i dont know a lot about cars, so can you tell me, does it make much difference that it doesnt have a turbo? I currently have a DS3 Turbo Diesel, i think its a decent speed with the turbo, but will i see a difference if i swap for this?

I've had my FR-S a year now and still love it, but these guys are over hyping it. It's not for everybody. Al lot of Americans are used to muscle cars and this car's power will disappoint them--they may prefer a Mustang or Camaro V6. I changed out the tires to same size Michelin Pilot Sport all weather tires and no more drifting, it just nails the corners, no drifting at all, which I don't require anyway. Few cars stay with me on the corners. Very rough ride by American standards, but that doesn't bother me, just be aware of it. No mechanical or bodywork problems at all so far. The reviewers are right when they say it is a balanced car, but I prefer to say that it has "feng shui."

The thing is, s2000 has only 2 seats! Im a honda guy, at the moment have a ep3 type r but the thing is 2 seats is not a every day car

@S2000F20CVTEC S2000 is a good car and has an extra 40bhp over the 86 but you haven't actually driven one have you? I've driven my mates AP1 and it is a great car. The F20 is a great engine. The 86 is a great car to drive as well, I own one myself plus an RX7 which is a faster and handles great as well but the 86 is really a fun car to drive if not more compared to my RX7.

Hope he was somewhere private when he was having a few tugs behind the wheel.

To the vtec and s2000 fanboys I've owned them and they're great but you can't buy them new no more. With light fettling aka turbo exhaust tune tyres geometry this thing which chew up non turbo vtec and other supposedly quicker 'proper' sports cars

The designers made this car with the intention of it being modified by their customers. And just about every "fact" you just listed was subjective. You've also been arguing with multiple people about a car that you don't even like on a youtube video going on 2 days now. So yes, that makes you the epitome of a hater.

Hmm the "kavcija"-(don,t know the word in english ;)) was over 9.000€ if you made a total wreck on Nurburgring. So i took VW Sciroko 220HP just 6000€ "kavcija". I was scared to drive RWD on Nordschlaife. But one day i will have to tray this car.

Used S2000 wins hands down compared to this ToyoBaru. Almost all reviewers unanimously agree an S2000 that is over a decade older (14 years in fact) since its original release is still more superior in handling, power, feel and fun factor (to name a few) than the supposedly newer and better BRZ GT86 or Fr-S. Not to mention the S2000 has more expensive materials (aluminum) and better quality (leather seats) and is a convertible (no need to wait for a BRZ convertible) and yet no body roll.
