I have a Navara and I love it, the motor is great but then again I'm not fat so I don't notice any lag when I drive.

Navarra is a good truck but it just can not carry too much weight, because of that coil spring, but it has a very strong and durable engine....all in all navara in terms of speed and strength of engine...it is superior, the problem is it capacity to carry heavy loads...

We drive a nissan navara with over 180000 kilometers on the clock and we have never had any problems with the car. And we go on frequent holidays where we ussually pack more than necessary without feeling the difference. And on top of all that we take our Echo 5 camping trailer along as well and we have never felt like the suspension isn't capable of doing the task or like the engine is working hard. So you clearly have something against the Navara!!

Another thing I'd like to point out is that, it definitely looks as if the Navara has gone soft, on the topic of utility, towing and coil suspension, the Navara may be the weakest. But that may not be a bad thing, that could be Nissan trying to make the Navara feel car-like. In this day and age, it's a bit of a fashion to buy a pick-up truck, and Nissan has figured that many people aren't really off-roading or using the utile capabilities, they're spending most of the time on road, going to work, mall, outings with family, etc... I don't know about Australia, but here in Belgium, western Europe, you're buying a pick up truck because of it's looks and part-time capabilities, OR because of job demand. So the Navara isn't as bad as people think, it's just misunderstood.

This is not a proper review. I smelt Ford and Toyota fanatics in this video. They literally said nothing good about the Navara. The new hilux engine is terrible. The ford ranger is a gas guzzler and the tray and the back skips when unloaded and rides hard. The same can be said of the hilux. The reason why the navara is coil sprung is because it gibes u better ride comfort and it voids the back from skipping over when empty and it doesnt ride hard. These guys can review a vehicle at all. There must be pros and cons to every vehicle no matter the brand including Nissan, Ford, Toyota.

Damn this is a legit old-school pick up truck shootout! Good job guys. Always fun to see what other kinda vehicles are available in other countries.

These were my top 3 picks but in the end I got a Navara and had no complain with it. Maintenance is 10,000-20,000 km compared to Hilux's 5,000. Fuel efficiency is way better than Ranger and Hilux. Coil Suspension may be inferior in heavy loads but way smoother without a load (you don't drive with heavy loads everytime anyways). For worth on your money, Navara leads them all.

Navara is better than people think

Defender has coil springs with 1575kg payload on the 110 HCPU. Please educate yourself and stop saying coil springs are weaker than prehistoric leaf springs, especially on 1 ton trucks ! Just a matter of spring rate for comfort, I tested it and it's way more raffinated on road than its 2 competitors, although I like ranger a lot.

Depending on the needs guess you could eventually install slightly stiffer springs and shocks for better load handling within the specified loading capacity. I recently got a brand new NP300 and so far I'm delighted with it. I come from an LN167 which was the last indestructible of the Hilux saga.

Nissan has the best diesel engine of the 3. This ute has the best reliability period. Nissan builds great diesel engines, which rivals Isuzu

Hmmm..still driving my 18yo Mazda 2wd 1500 diesel.. hauled tonnes of building materials up 45degrees to build our house on our 30acre rubber farm mountainside here in Thailand. Initial cost about A$10k now has about 250km. ..No complaints... a hard working farm vehicle. Ordered a Ford Ranger 4x4 a few years back then cancelled. SIL farmer has Toyota 4x4 ..great to drive ...maybe buy it off her in a few years for A$10k..😁

The Navara is the best for me. The hosts are so biased toward Toyota and Ford. In an all out drag race the Navara will win, the ride is the best of the trio and admittedly I went to Toyota's showroom first, but when I test drove the hilux, the ride was so rough and when the gear changed you felt as if someone bumped into you from behind. I went to the Nissan showroom after and I never turned back. It's amazing to see that hardly any Toyota owner will admit that their van rides like crap. It's like Toyota has brainwashed them.

I tested all three and for my needs the Nissan was the best, I like the Ranger big engine and the look but for almost the same power the Nissan is less thirsty and the new look is also not bad too!! anyway, at the end the choice must suit the needs!! But honestly Toyota the winner ???!!! Hmm it smells here ;-)

I bought a brand new Nissan Navara D23, and I'm very happy with it! I don't know about Australia, but here in Belgium Ford has a very bad reputation. The ranger has reliability issues. And the Toyota Hilux looks boring and generic.

I think there is a simple way to honestly know which ranks the best amongst the pick-up buying population; get the sale numbers for each pick-up in the various markets over the years. Whether it be North America, Australia, Africa, Asia, etc.

I think in the end it depends on which trucks do you prefer.. Each trucks have their own pros and cons.. The most important thing when you owned a 4x4 vehicles is to ensure the vehicle get proper maintenance when the times come.. Even if you had the best truck in the world, but if you didnt take care of it properly it is just a matter of time before it is broken.

NISSAN fuel saver. Everyone is looking for something that doesn't use much fuel. FUEL PRICES ARE KILLING .

for light duty use buy Navarra ..for commercial use buy Hi Lux or Isuzu

here in South Africa Toyota has the best resale value and reliability. most guys I know are complaining of factory faults on ford Rangers for example the brakes don't last under normal driving conditions.

I have the navara d40 2.5 LE 2014.and recently bought the navara d23 2.5 VL 2017 , but the d40 is a lot better,the d40 series drives better, is more luxurious/comfortable, acceleration is better, has more room than the d23. Can also carry more load.

Was interested to see the reliability of engines and other cost factors. Obviously any new car will be OK for first few years. Ford will be same as Nissan if I wanna keep it for long term, money pit. Toyota will be the best choice. I have Navara STX last few years. This car does the job but not as reliable as I would be expecting. Pricewise it was cheaper that's why I got it.

Wish we'd get the Hilux over here in Canada! I'm a Toyota guy as well who drives a Toyota Tacoma, I guess the North American version of the Hilux, but would like to see the Ranger on Canadian roads! As for the Navara, Nissan has yet to update the Frontier (Navara in N.America) over here for this market, we still have last gen Navara/Frontiers driving around here. These pick up trucks look cool especially the Toyota and Ford (again not a fan of Ford but do appreciate they're truck styling, would never own one myself though)

My 2016 Ranger had to go to the dealership 15 times in one year. I sold it and bought a new Hilux, nothing has gone wrong so far and the build quality is so much better. The Hilux is the better vehicle.

Mate, diesel price is now rising. Which means less fuel consumption engine is the way to go. Plus rego and insurance for the 5cyl engine is a pain in the wallet. Ranger: Spend more money for rego, insurance, fuel Hilux: Like a China Made powerless engine. Navara: Pay less with Rego, Insurance and Fuel thanks to a smaller engine. But you still got that needed power thanks to those twin turbos. You guys should think about these comparisons.

Np300 is not specific design for heavy load..its design for more comfortable for driver and passenger at the back seat...not like hilux always bumping and ford a bit bumping compare to np300

wow, light trucks are expensive in oz. MSRP on a taco TRD pro in usa is cheaper than the cheapest TRD hilux in oz if i got the exchange rate right, and the taco pro is more capable with more standard features. i've never checked vehicle prices, there. maybe it's that way across the board.

I’ve got a Hilux but there’s nothing wrong with a Navara. The Ranger is worst because of reliability issues plus it only has a 3 year warranty compared to 5 years for the other two here in the UK.

Sometimes I think America gets some really boring model vehicles. Our Frontier’s look like they did the last five years. I do not like the coil overs vs leaf springs. But hey at least y’all have the ranger still. Shits non existent here.

The ford ranger also has a known problem with oil changes due to the variable oil pump. If you don’t have fresh oil back into that engine within 10 minutes you’ll have no oil pressure when you go to start it. This plonker is selling smoke. If rear coil suspension is so bad then how come coil cab patrols are more sought after than their leaf spring counterparts? I rest my case

I think the reason why the Ford Ranger sells like crazy is because it looks like a proper tough little truck. It looks the best by far. Look at it's twin under the skin, the Mazda BT 50, it is hideous hence no one buys it.

Best part about this is even through and through hilux fans hate the new hilux and reckon there terrible off road and this guy cant get enough of them. Ive got a np300 and both of them cant kept up anywhere
