Great video, saved us a trip to the dealership! I was a bit unclear at first regarding the initial descriptive statement saying "turn wheel left n right at same time". Should it be left THEN right quickly, while pushing start button? ...unless I misunderstood. Doesn't really matter cuz you then demonstrated the proper action making it clear. BIG THANK YOU FOR THE HELPFUL VIDEO!!!

We encountered this with our new 2018 innova here in the philippines, we thought our car broke but when we called our agent we found out it's been steering-wheel lock. Lol She taught us how to unlock and start the car then voila it worked. Nice feature toyota!

I HAVE LEARNED SOMETHING NEW ABOUT PUSH START SYSTEM....... I DON'T USE PUSH START IGNITION..... I USE KEY SYSTEM IGNITION...... THANK YOU TOYOTA...

Is there a way to unlock it without turning the car on? My 86 is loud and would be nice to be able to roll to the bottom of the hill in neutral and then start so I don’t wake everyone up

Oh jeez, just got a 16 Tundra, my first Toyota ever. I couldn't start the thing and I was terrified something was already broke on it. Nope, just a safety feature

Well you have to steer “Steering Wheel” left n right while turning the key. I just unlocked my friend’s vehicle by watching this video. Hope this helps everyone in the future.

Yaris 2017 iA.. do they have that lock? Ive seen 2 cars already that the wheel keeps turning while its off (mine included)

I have a 2017 Toyota Yaris and my steering wheel is locked. But my screen information is also turning off and I can't see if it's actually the steering wheel or something else that is causing this? Does the cold cause this problem cuz I didn't have this until now.

This is the most garbage feature in my Toyota. Before I buy my next car I will make sure it does not have this feature. It is over a 100 degrees outside and I’ve been trying to unlock my steering wheel for over thirty minutes. I have to drive my pets across Texas. I will never buy another Toyota.
