Just completed top overhaul on 250K mile 2013 Prius 3 with many new parts installed, including Fire Motoo injectors purchased off Amazon for $52. Why would someone clean old ones, when new are cheap? Car now finished and transformation is amazing!

2004 prius had running rich I put 5 different fuel additives in it when it was 3 bars tank and ran it down to 1 bar and I put it in gear and held down gas and made rpms go up don't know how much but thin I took it in cleaned the code and now it getting better gas mileage and it's been 3 months and no code

Yes it is an easiest way to clean the injectors without hardwork. But if you want to clean properly and check the injector condition, you have to pull down and inspect and clean with this method. Anyway thanks your comment and watching my videos.

@@carfix1993my Prius has 165k miles and recently did the spark plugs and ignition coils because it was misfiring. Do you recommend I replace the fuel injectors or clean them

I have a 2012 ct200h and I had bad spark plugs and bad fuel injectors I went to a mechanic shop and they only had used set of fuel injectors but I noticed that my MPG dropped about 25%. Do you think that if I were to buy new ones or take them out and clean them thoroughly that will bring up my MPG back to normal again?

"For secured," Must remove the fuel pump relay, then push start engine, put in D, let engine run until cut off, fuel pressure 39 PSI release, never re-using O-ring, buy new injectors O-ring kit!

You never ever need it if you live in modern country with good gasoline and detergent from known brands like Shell BP Exxon, etc. I drove exact same car for 400 000 km and never need to do such thing in USA/ EU

Nice video! My concern is rubber gaskets.. Is it ok to reuse the gaskets? I have 2014 with 340,000 km on it, and never cleaned injectors. Now recently it has started to rattle (just like manual shift in bigger gear and slow speed) at slow speed acceleration. Could this be due to plugged injectors? I appreciate your opinion. Thank you!

This could also be due to your Egr system being clogged, needs cleaning around 160km. Egr cooler, pipe and intake manifold/Egr ports.

@@matthewvalenzuela1441 I replaced intake manifold and cleaned egr pipe but not egr cooler. Shall I clean egr cooler as well?

@@arvindersingh9891 Yes! The Egr cooler is the first piece to clog up badly, if your Egr pipe was dirty then the cooler will be even dirtier, you should be able to see through it. Soak it in oven cleaner for a little bit, then power wash it at self serve car wash stall, then after spray the inside left and right internal fin channels with oven/brake cleaner from both sides. You can replace it if you don’t want to do all that but it should increase your mpg and lower coolant temps👍🏽

First scan the car check any code. Could be injector or egr getting blocked

Hi sir I have prius 2010 with 190000km. I feel very low space in accelarating paddle. And a paddle is very hard to push for accelarating and pick is also bad .what would be the fault . Please guide me Thanks Waiting for your kind concern

@@carfix1993 Mine after cleanning has the same symptom, DTC is P0456, minor leak of EVAP system. Does that mean there are leaks from the injector section? How should I proceed? THanks

Always disconnect the battery first, you don't want sparks to ignite the fumes while you working on your car

Toyota service sucks, complete rip offs. Btw, Id sell your Prius while it still has relatively low miles. Mine at only $130k has lot of problems and so many others I know have all the same issues. It is not a reliable car imo and Ill never buy another Toyota

@@iwontreplybacklol7481 totally! I would never buy another hybrid. I made a bad choice in this car since I don’t drive enough to see the “savings”. I would get a gasoline vehicle. Most vehicles now in days have excellent mileage.

@@chavitavb My 2011 toyota Prius has 206,000 miles and have not had a problem. I bought the car about a year ago and put 30k miles on it. Best purchase ive ever made

@@iwontreplybacklol7481 Surely that's your local Toyota distributor. The ones in our district are excellent-knowledgeable and upfront, and ready to help-even if you just need guidance for a repair. I've found that even though they have a higher hourly rate, their experience and specialist tools means the total parts and labour cost comes out no more than a repair shop with lower hourly rates. I've taken my fords to Toyota for work- they are much more competent than our local Ford dealerships.

Eh I have a prius with 184K miles. Only issue so far was cyl 3 misfire at 129k had a bad fuel injector and then again at 180k. Other than that no issues.

Any idea how to prevent all that gas to leak out when removing the injectors? Seems like a hazard? Otherwise great post on how to clean injectors. Thx.

I think theirs a relay fuse and remove it and let sit but can't be too sure. Great question

Can't prevent the leak, only capture the fuel when it leaks. You can crack another bolt off the side to relive the pressure (slightly easier capture of fuel).

very useful video, I have an error on cylinder 4, can you tell me which cylinder is 4, how do I stand in front of the car? I want to clean only the injector on cylinder 4; prius plus 2015
