Go through the video Toyota has additional S variant in strong hybrid which Maruti doesn't offer...obviously this will be at least 1.5 lakhs cheaper option only available with Toyota

Toyota hybrid car (Hyryder) and Maruti suzuki grand vitara are being introduced in India with full hybrid versions. I believe the strong/full hybrid car starts using power from the hybrid battery (not the regular battery) and if that is discharged after prolonged non use, the car will not start (as learnt on google). Please clarify if it is true and also for how long this hybrid car can be left without use safely to avoid re-starting problem. Sometimes we need to leave the car in parking for few weeks when away on holiday.

We still need to get the prices of the Hyryder, also, ZXI has much feature than hyryder, if you priority is features then Brezza, size wise hyryder or grand vitara.

Good review but most reviewer fail to understand the buyers/audience point of view. Meaning considering my experience as Duster petrol owner compare in terms of seating of driver and passengers, front bonnet visibility, ease of driving, boot spacing, maintenance costs, etc. Hope you understand my point of view.

Driver seating, visibility is same in both the cars, they both are literally the same. We can't "compare" two exact same cars, driving aspect & visibility of both the cars will be shared in the drive review for sure.

Hi Rishabh, thanks for such an informational video. I had a question for you. I am looking at an SUV car in the range of 10 - 13 lacs. Since the car's running will be approx. 50-60 every day, which one of the above (Toyota HyRyder VS Maruti Grand Vitara) or any other SUV would you recommend and also should I go in for Petrol or Diesel variant? Mileage & Comfort are top priority for me and then comes Design, Features and Looks of the SUV. Also a sunroof will be a great to have :) Shall await your views. Thanks alot.

Thank you so much Kunal ji, one thing you missed is your location. However considering your budget, both Hyryder & Vitara can be your ideal choice. In 13 lakhs base Variant of these 2 or MG Astor. With approx 2000 km a month & keeping the future in mind I have shortlisted these for you.

Strong hybrid variant of toyota will absolutely be cheaper then strong hybrid of grand vitara as this technology is driven by toyota and there is a premium cost which maruti suzuki will have to bear. parallely in mid variants of both these cars which is a mild hybrid version we have suzuki engines so for mid variants grand vitara will be cheaper than toyota hyryder.

Pollution Emission control in diesel engines is more complicated than a petrol one and cause more problems like DPF failures . Diesel engine is also heavier and its high torque can be compensated by a strong hybrid electric motor. Hybrids aim at being highly fuel efficient and this in Toyota hybrids is done by the lighter 3 cylinder NA Atkinson petrol unit combined with the electric motor drive and generating units. There is little chance of any hybrid diesel power train coming from Toyota.
