Toyota Land Cruiser FJ60 Performance 2f Engine Build PT6: Final Motor Assembly

The day has final come to assemble the long awaited performance Toyota 2f motor. Once all the pieces of the motor were machined the build process cascaded from there. OEM freeze plugs are ferrous metals ….. for a reason. Installing bronze freeze plugs will lead to block failure due to galvanic corrosion. From Samuel ( Engine Builder) Hope this will help in future projects

Make sure you get some performance numbers, times. with the old engine before you put in this monster so we have a comparison. or better yet put it on a dyno. We would love to see the parts cost. not so much the labor. because we understand you were doing alot of the work yourself at the machine shop. but a Horsepower per doller breakdown would be good in the end. It will be be neat to see the difference in this engine and the red truck with the v8. Obviously the v8 will make more power even in stock form. and the cost per conversion is probable right in there with rebuilding the 2f. But having all the original stuff bolt right onto a 2f, and the reliability in the future and are ok with not doing 90mph down an on ramp. but rather cruise for 100s of miles at a time at a reasonable speed is reason enough to want to build the 2f in my opinion. But of course i love all of the ODD engines out there. Keep em coming. Tom B.

there will be a video of time trails. but without a dyno test it. ill be doing my best to show the difference though. I would say for number on any of the above stuff reach out to classic motors this would include pricing. I Cant wait to get to the V8 projects its just a little further down the road. im n to looking for go 90mph with this truck either I just want to see how far we could take the 2f but still be able to drive it for miles like you said.

Haha next week. Going with stock carb for motor break in then switching to the Downey 2-barrel Holley

Where’d you get all the seals and gaskets when doing the build ? I have a hard time finding things like that for my FJ60

Depending what seal I might have it from a parts truck. Some seals are discontinued. Just need a do a search online for things. Seals can get expensive

Sorry thought you meant for the seal for the body. Motor stuff can be bought new in a kit from a local parts store

What are the specs on the cam.(lift, duration, etc.) Where did you get it. Also, what size and brand are the pistons? Can't wait to here it run. Awesome job 👍

Don't know why engine specs are such a secret. As we all know cams and lifters for these engines are stupid money. It would be nice to have another option.

@@vin9114 do most 2F cams need to be replaced? Rebuilding engine right now 340k miles on it... not sure what she needs or what to look for with cams

I don't know why you didn't film or do the things in chronological order. Makes for a very confusing video, especially with no dialog or explanation. I guess I'll have to look elsewhere for that video.
