Stick around and let us know what details you like and questions you have in the comments below and we will do our best to answer as many as we can for you.

Great review again! If you remember me I have the exact same Rav4 XSE in blizzard pearl also. My Rav turned 1 year yesterday and it turned to 12,000 miles (20,000 kms) that day also. I totally share the same love for this great car. At first I didn't like the digital mirror but after a month of ownership I forced myself to have it on all the time. Low and behold after a month I got used to it and I won't go back to the regular review mirror. I don't know how you keep the paint on the front of your Rav4 so clean as mine has bug marks that seem almost impossible to clean off. But in general I love the white pearl color complimented by the black gloss roof and black wheels. I'm the only driver of my car as I'm single so I can hypermile as you call it but I don't make that big an effort other then always driving in ECO mode and being smooth in acceleration & braking. I get 60 Imperial mpg (50 US) in the middle of the summer as I stated in a previous comment on your 3 month review. I also highly recommend this wonderful car to everyone I meet. Thanks again for the review and drive safe.

You’re right about the quiet ride! My friends often notice that too. My heart was sold on a 4Runner but most of my driving is in the city, which gives you low fuel economy. 4Runner has a big thirsty engine so I decided to go with RAV4 Hybrid and I don’t regret it so far. Maybe in the future if the 4Runner gets a more efficient engine I will switch.

Great review guy! I bought my Rav4 Prime plug-in about a month ago and have a little over 2,400 miles. I love this car, everything you said is true! For those out there, see if you can buy the plug-in prime though. You get about 40+ miles on just pure battery power and then it turns into a regular hybrid. I went 2,380 on a tank of gas because I charged my car everything I got home. It’s a great car, if you can get it though, the wait time is a little over a year or so and the Rav4 Prime is only made in Japan so production is limited.

I have a 2020 XSE with the same features and I LOVE it. Totally agree with this video. I’m averaging around 36-37 mpg though, but that’s probably because I’m heavy-footed. I just took it on its first long trip and was blown away by the comfort and ease. The adaptive cruise with lane tracing makes a long trip so much less taxing than any other vehicle I’ve owned. Cheers to many more miles with this awesome little suv! Edit: Things have taken a turn with the Rav. Started having an issue where the 12v battery dies out of nowhere. And after the first time it happened, the steering became unpredictably off center. Had the whole steering rack replaced and it's still doing it. I've had this thing back at the dealer about once every other week for months. There are service bulletins out about all these things AND a class action about the battery issue. I literally have to carry a spare 12v battery with me everywhere. It's insane. I LOVE the car, but this is not worth it.

I've done a quick conversion from US Gallons to Litres to understand better what you were saying, and it is what I believed regarding to fuel consumption. However I was astonished when you said that to fill up a tank with approx 12 gallons you spend like USD 25... Over here in Europe it would be like the equivalent of USD 100. You american are so lucky with the price of cars and fuel, much cheaper than here (and your salaries are higher!)

I bet that added harshness after 25k if the tires wearing off. Less rubber, less cushion. Usually cars get softer with age. Maybe clunky with enough wear. I find a new set of tires brings back that little bit of softness. Hell my 250k prius still feels amost new all stock .

They functioned without any problems. Ours had the auto sensing headlights and they seemed to work well judging on coming traffic. On occasion, some passing cards would flash their lights at you to indicate you had your brights on even when you did not. If that is an indication of how well they worked. I have a 2020 rap for XSE hybrid what the it's a hybrid what do you mean by hyper miling? Another question I have for you his gas mileage I noticed my gas mileage right now I'll address now is no higher than 32 Per gallon. I know it is Winter in New York but the seams are very large disparity in gas mileage.
@QuickShifts
@QuickShifts 2 жыл бұрын
Hyper mailing is when you go to every extreme to maximize your fuel efficiency. As for your second question, there are so many factors to consider when figuring gas mileage that it hard to compare one persons results to another unless you are able to control all the variants. Weather, gas quality. Road quality and conditions, speeds, driving style, tires, altitude, traffic weight are just a few of many factors to be considered.

I been looking at the rave 4 plugin .I have a 2021 kia telluride .I love the car but the the gas mileage is so bad .I do alot of city driving and I only average 12 to 14 mph. highway maybe 22 mpg. with 10,000 miles on I only averaged 16.5 mpg. Im actually thinking of getting rid of it and getting the Rav4 .

If gas mileage is your main concern, the RAV4 will make you much happier. It is smaller then your Telluride though. So you make sure you can accept the differences.

I started to look but the dealers want way over the msrp . One guy on the web site it fully loaded rave4 prime sxe for 49 thousand . I got ahold of him and he said there is a dealer markup the price of the car would be 58 grand.I herd from another git and they quoted 66 grand. It's cheaper to keep my suv and pay the gas prices then buy the rav4 prime at this time.

@@johnmcmanus123 unfortunately that is the market right now and you are correct. It’s a sellers market. In your case, you should be able to offset the mark up with your trade in. You also have one of the hot vehicles in the market. If I was you, I would use that in my negotiation.

@QuickShifts
@QuickShifts 2 жыл бұрын
It’s there, it’s still a Toyota and not a Lexus. Is it severe, no. I would describe it as what you would expect in this vehicle. Unfortunately I didn’t think to meter it while I had it. I apologize. if you are driving with the radio on or while having a conversation, it isn’t bad enough to make you go crazy or for you to have to scream to hear each other. But it is there and not silent. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@QuickShifts I had the fuel tanks replaced already as part of the recall. But when the low fuel light comes on thee is suppose to be 2 gal or less. So for a 14.5 gal tank. Figured I would at LEAST get 12 gal in there. Nope filling stops at 11 max ( sometimes less). So dealer said I have to come in on empty ( eg low fuel light on) and I will take them to fill it up to prove it’s not taking the 12+ gal. I think there is a computer bug still IMHO.

@@biggun7 sounds similar to ours on the stock tank. I would have problems filling it completely too. I would have to play with the gas pump nozzle to get in a full extra gallon of gas. Like they tell you not to do with a fuel pump. I just got used to it.
