3" suspension lift on this 2018 Toyota Tacoma 4WD. This kit fitsToyota Tacoma 2005-2020 and is Rough Country's 3" Suspension with lifted struts. In this video we go step by step on how we installed a 3" rough country suspension lift with lifted struts and install 17x9 Fuel Wheels and 33x12.50 17 BFG KO2.

Yea me too. These videos make it look so easy since they have a lift. Us diyers need to put the truck on jack stands

Just did it on my 2019 with jackstands and a bottle jack. It's no harder than the video makes it out to be. It just takes time and patience.

I have the same lift and 285/70/17 is the biggest tire you can run without rubbing. These 33/12.50’s look good but will cause issues. This kit will require a 1” diff drop and upper control arms for caster adjustment and the drivers side needle bearing will need to be replaced. I’m sure you noticed the grinding noise from 20-45 mph. Great kit for the $ but realize there is much more involved so beware! Oh and CV boots rub together and will rip over time. Recommend the boot slide mod as well

Just purchased this kit, why replace needle bearing on the drivers side? And what’s a boot slide mod?

@@jackdavignon3889 the drivers side needle bearing will make a cylindrical grinding noise after the lift, it’s just the cv angle putting pressure on it. Some get lucky and don’t have an issue, I didn’t. Just order the ECGS clamshell bushing, (google it). The boot slide mod is where you take the cv boot clamp off on the inner boots and slide it down the shaft so the ribs don’t touch and reclamp them. Sounds scary but not a big deal really. Check out Tacoma World forum and read up a bit. The kit is good just needs a few aftermarket adjustment. Good luck!

I have the RC 3.5’ lift and with UCA’s never had any grinding noise. I take it to expert offroad shops . Zero rubbing or trimming

if I want to put 285/70/16 wheels and tire do I need to change the gear ratio of the diffs? if that the case, what will be the best gpm/gear for a 3th gen 4cyl daily driver/commuter, occasional light off-road taco?, thank you!

would you be able to tell me how much trimming you had to do to keep from scrubbing front and rear. RC says for a 285 70 17 with a -12 offset I would have to?? Thanks in advance.

What's a reasonable price to pay on labor. Some shops are trying to charge over a 1,000 bucks for labor for this kit

Would you be able to use the front struts for a Tacoma pre 2005? I have a 99 Tacoma but rough country doesn’t sell front 3in lifted struts for any Tacoma pre 2005.
