Great to see the Tundra handle the load no problem! The 5.7 iforce v8 is still one of the most advanced engines available on the market today, 10 years later. Not to mention completely bulletproof. Great video guys!

It is true with the chains. One of my 22 year old sons that just started working for me in our construction business recently connected one of our trailers to my truck. For the first time in my life I lost a trailer at 50 going over a bridge. He was pretty new to hooking up trailers and accidentally locked the bulldog down without being fully seated onto the ball. Chains cradled the tongue, the emergency breaks engaged, and I didnt panic and instead came to a nice controlled stop. Absolutely NO damage at all. We did however have some trailer towing training after the mishap. It all came out well because I am a stickler for keeping our equipment in excellent condition.

Hey when you dump your load with the trailer . snap your truck into four-wheel-drive so when the rear tires lift you don’t have to worry about it!

I plan to buy the 5.7 for 2019 retirement......towing a LIL Snoozy. Thanks for the safety tips.........I almost died in 1968 in a tow accident were the hook broke away. I now watch the show Highway thru Hell to learn more about this art form.

Sweet video. Really nice to see trucks & trailers at work and making contractors some money. What axle gear ratio does your Tundra have in it? Also did you add airbags/helper springs to the rear end of the truck to help counter any sagging due to a heavy trailer?

It's nice to see a fellow Tundra owner using these trucks and showing how bulletproof they really are. I will say though that load was way over the limit for that truck. Might be able to do it, but the numbers stated from engineers who built and designed the truck say that it shouldn't be done for a reason. Illegal and unsafe to say the least, shocking for someone talking about safety the entire video.

My 16 tundra has a max gcwr is 16k and a max trailer weight 10k. Have you been stopped by DOT with that trailer behind you?

It was only a little over 3k pounds. I'd hope that truck could pull atleast 1ton. My dodge crosses the scale at 24k truck trailer and trash and I leave weighing right at 13880 every time. That's what I want to see the tundra get to 14l behind it

I called my favorite tool rental business. Asked them if they would let me rent a JD 35 track hoe with a trailer using a tundra. The answer was no. That is why I am keeping my 1999 7.3. It is a shame because the big three are crap.

check the sticker on the driver side it probably says 7,000 lbs max towing. check your users manual it probably says 7,000 lbs max.

All these hate comments from the wanna be truck drivers and dot officers the gross weight was 14,720 if the truck weighs 5,500 lbs i don’t know for sure so give or take a little there. That makes the trailer around 9,220 lbs give or take because I don’t know exactly what the truck weighs. So the weight he is pulling is somewhere in the neighborhood of 9,220 lbs. well within the tow rating of the truck. Mine is rated to tow 9,800 lbs so I would make an educated guess and say this truck is similar. Glad it handled the weight fine can’t wait to tow something with mine.

You mention safety an awful lot and the dangers with towing especially with such a load. Tundra calls for a Weight Distribution hitch when towing over 5500ibs

You need to have a truck rated for 14k pounds if your trailer is 14k. No the basics before you take the responsibility of misinforming the public. You could be ticketed for this.
