I just found one of these on the train, I guess someone lost it. Do y'all think I can safely use it with my own devices if I insert a new SIM card? Or is it possible that someone modded it and purposely left it on the train, waiting for someone to use it and install some type of virus onto their phone? This may be a stupid question but to be honest, I don't know a lot about electronics so I thought I'd ask. (I know it'd morally be the right thing to give it back to it's owner but even if I brought it to some lost and found station, the chances of the owner actually getting it back are pretty low so I'd rather keep it for myself, than for it to lay around somewhere with no one using it. I know that's probably not the right thing to do but yeah...)

Can you explain if this device boosts the current networks signal? I have 300GB data SIM card, but the signal is very poor where I am. If I get this TP Link device does it boost the signal?

The signal comes from the transmission station, so if your phone with the SIM card is getting poor signal, having a SIM card in the device would not make much difference. @@TechnologyTips017 career doesn't let me stay in a place for more than a year usually so I can't deal with contracts a and fixed installations etc. So my smart home devices are almost always left out. And they all work on 2.4ghz.

If i put my SIM card in my phone i get about 90mbps but if i put the SIM card in this i get about 40 mbps is there a reason for this ?

One reason could be that the phone was tested and optimized to work better with the Telco SIM whereas the Mobile Wifi probably uses a generic set of codes that is not optimized for the Telco SIM you're using. ASnother reason could be the chipset used in the phone is superior to that being used by the mobile router. My SIM card falls through the adaptor (I'm definitely using the correct adaptor) .TP LInk provide a sticker to keep the SIM card in place but a) this stops the adaptor sliding in and b) I will need to change the SIM card frequently which is not possible with the sticker. I've spoken at some length to TP link and they have no suggestions. I wonder if anyone else has had the same problem?
