I retired from Disneyland on August 5th,2023. I worked at the front gate, scanning tickets or bidding farewell at the exit gates. I was working that night of the terrible dragon incident. It was strange! The normal crowd was leaving, but all of a sudden, huge masses of people started to leave. I asked a guest and he told me what happened, along with video of the scene. That was a tragic night, for sure. I am so happy that no one got hurt.

@@MarvelBricks The Maleficent dragon in the Fantasmic show caught on fire and was burned down to the crisp. Cast members had everyone evacuated. To me it seemed more people were trying to stay and watch instead of running away in horror but cast members wouldn’t let them

I feel bad for the guests and cast members that witnessed Murphy catching on fire. Murphy is such a crucial part of Fantasmic and to see him burst into flames so quickly is heartbreaking!

My only complaint about the new Epcot show is that because they shoot the fireworks so low, the smoke doesn’t clear unless it is pretty windy. The show.effects that are from the barges/water area can be impossible to see later in the show. Other than that, the show was great.

I am kinda scared that Tiana's Bayou Adventure is gonna flop. I liked Splash Mountain because the music was catchy and there was a strong story that induced fear as you went up the lift hill for the final drop. Brer Rabbit has been captured and now we were trying to escape. How is that level of excitement going to be created when we're all trying to find the secret ingredient for beignets? I don't know if it's going to work, so Disney really has to knock it out of the park or else we're going to end up with a Peoplemover to Rocket Rods situation.

I need to visit Toontown at Disneyland sometime in the near future! World Celebration Gardens offers nothing uniquely Disney. The simplistic architecture and structures of the gardens look like something typical you'd find at an urban or suburban strip mall.

For me, the best was- the expansion and reopening of Toontown, Tron Lightcycle Run, getting to meet Pete for the first time, and getting stuck on Web Singers (yes, I am that nuts for getting stuck on theme park rides); and the worst was the closure of Splash Mountain and unfortunate demise of Murphy during Fantasmic (each time I see Murphy on fire, I'm both crying 😢 and fighting back laughter thanks to the music coming from New Orleans Square).

@@jdokuma I also got to add getting stuck on Indiana Jones Adventure and evacuated from Rise of the Resistance this year too. While I was on the ride for the Indiana Jones Adventure breakdown, I was in the Interrogation Room for Rise of the Resistance when it broke down. Either way, I was stoked as that was the closest I have been to being on the ride during a breakdown.

You said that Splash Mountain was the best attraction at Walt Disney World so losing the #1 ride isn’t bad. Hopefully if the dragon returns it should have an extinguisher that activates when it senses fire.

Unfortunately, it's been confirmed by Disney that the dragon's never coming back. Instead, it'll be replaced with a battle between Mickey and Maleficent just in her regular form. That's further proof the company's too scared to take risks anymore out of fear of the same bad things happening in the future, when in reality, it's their fault those same bad things have been happening in the first place and keep happening all thanks to their never-ending incompetence, negligence, and total disregard towards quality and guest satisfaction.

@@1992disney That's always been a thing though. Toontown got lawyered to death in the early 2000s, and it certainly wasn't the first incident of Disney pulling back on risks. They always put safety first.

Disney bringing Figment back is such a corporate pandering move. They don't want to invest in restoring the entire pavilion so they give us merchandising and a photo op with a TINY Dreamfinder icon behind Figment.

No offense to the new Tron coaster at Magic Kingdom (which looks great btw) but it's location still would have been more suited over at Epcot (right where the GotG coaster is located) and their locations swapped. But it is what it is. Similar deal with Journey with Water: It looks great, location looks great with Spaceship Earth, between the Land and the Seas pavilions and the water effects look great too. But which theme park it was located again would have been better suited over at the animal kingdom as part of an Oceania area. Just it is what is.

I think it’s kinda unfair to judge Tron for the 5 year construction. Covid did a number on the parks and caused a lot of delays. Sure, Universal worked a lot faster to get their new rides and lands up, but we don’t know their policies & procedures.

My three complaints would be Splash Mountain leaving (even though I love Princess and the frog), losing the Disneyland dragon, and a double virtual queue (Guardians and TRON both requiring it).

I agree with all three of your complaints. Splash being the worst change. I don’t mind virtual queues. I also really loved Enchantment so I miss it but HEA is still really good

I loved Splash Mountain and was sad to see it go. I remember going on it as a child. Let's be honest though, it was showing it's age. The animatronics were dated. It was looking it's age and needed an update. Was I sad to see it being scrapped, sure. But they needed to do something with it. Honestly, I'll wait to see how its replacement is before I pass my final judgment. But as of now, I'm not surprised that Splash was closed.

I had a front row seat during the fantasmic showing.. and it was the last show of the night.. ironically the best seating I've ever had, and she burst into flames out of no where. People were stopped recording all over the place 💀 the evacuation was unreal. I was initially concerned about Mickey underneath hoping he didn't get caught in the fire.

I am going to be very sad when they close “It’s tough to be a bug” at Epcot since I always wanted to see it (specifically the Hopper animatronic), but along with this, I feel like Disney is really killing off a good movie by closing this attraction.

As someone who goes to Disney every summer, the hooper animatronic hasn’t been on for 1-2 years, the stingers are painful, and the show is dated, the best part was watching children cry but that doesn’t happen anymore as nobody goes to it…😢

Definitely agree on the worst of 2023, I was absolutely distraught when I heard the poor dragon caught fire T.T Fantasmic at Disneyland (never seen the one in Florida) has always been my favorite show ever, so being at the park when it didn't happen this past November was heartbreaking. I am SO glad the show will be back for my next trip, though!

The reason why Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs is short is because the Hong Kong Government would not let Disney expand any further. Even though Disney has big plans for HK Disneyland, the HK Government would not approve an expansion to HK Disneyland. As a HK Citizen, I feel that HK Disneyland is the forgotten Disney Park because all the great things are given to other Disney Parks. So please TPM, visit HK Disneyland and do more HK Disneyland videos. Thanks TPM for featuring HK Disneyland in this video and please do more HK Disneyland video so more people can know about HK Disneyland and hopefully visit and give it a chance.

Best of 2023 for me? It's spread between Rogers the Musical, Judge Doom at Oogie Boogie Bash, and the opening of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway. Worst of 2023 for me is definitely going to Murphy's fiery departure, because that was absolutely devastating. If the rumor is true, then I am completely fine with waiting for a long, long time for the new animatronic.

I grew up in Southern California. I can't even tell you how many times I have been to Disneyland. And in 2007 I moved to Canada (long story, but I'm originally from here). Anyway, I think I watch these videos because, well, I think I miss Disney. And I know this is not exactly what the guy asked but one thing I would want to see is the people mover at Disneyland once and for all fixed. I know it would be mega expensive, but yeah wanted or not, Disney makes a ridiculous amount of money. I mean, me all the way here in the Eastern part of Canada would be thrilled it would be back at Disneyland. I was so disappointed when they got rid of it and obviously, I still think about that. And I know I am not alone.

I was at splash mountain in California when the last ride happened and let me tell you the feels were real as the last log went down everyone in the area stop and said goodbye to the ride together in true Disney fashion by singing the iconic song I think twice and by half way though got the second time you could feel the sadness in the air. But all the same it was a very beautiful moment I hope the new ride has just as much love and impact.

Murphy bursting into flames was iconic and was the only way that that animatronic should've gone out if it had to go (which he definitely was gonna go at some point considering how cursed it was). The most important thing was that no cast members were hurt and honestly that's all I care about.

The closing of splash mountain honestly makes the Disney fan base look like babies. I have never seen soooo many people complain about something in my life until this announcement. I don’t know if I was riding a different ride or something but splash mountain was a hot mess. The animatronics were falling apart I remember one time riding it with 14 of them not working. This ride needs something new and I get it it’s nostalgia nobody likes change but if you don’t accept change then continue being stubborn and hate everything.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure's popularity will be short-lived. Once the craze for the ride dies down, it'll be having nothing but short wait times. You'll see. 😉

I like Tiana's Bayou Adventure, but I'm still sad it replaced Splash Mountain, because it was my favorite ride. It's definitely possible to like both!

Murphy burning down was the worst! Run away railroad the best. I'm stocked for Tiana's! We aren't losing a ride, plus Splash still exists over seas. Walt said things will always improve and change. So those people who are so mad need to take a chill pill

There was room to expand at WDW, maybe not so much at Disneyland. If you have the space, make new attractions, don’t replace, especially something that’s still popular.

I would like Tiana's bayou adventure if it didn't replaced an amazing atraction like splash Mountain (I even like the princess and the frog) but this is not fair for the brer characters being excluded from the entire Disney entertaiment

Ok I have to comment on something. BMX bikes stunts have been used before at Tokyo Disneyland on some special events shows at the castle and hub. So what ever the Walt Disney Studios Paris intends to do, it’s not the first time we have seen BMX bikes at a Disney park. Also I just saw the Electrical Sky Parade at Disneyland Paris and it was simply outstanding. As an old timer or Disney parks and having seen the electrical parade back in the 70s and 80s, to say I was in tears is an understatement. As for WDW… their entertainment department is the least impressive. The parade at Magic Kingdom is already dated and needs replacement. Only the fireworks is what the Magic Kingdom does best.

I guess I’m the only one who liked HarmonioUs show. It was grand and quite impressive from a technical point of view. While LuminoUs may have more heart and soul with some new songs, technically it falls flat compared to HarmonioUs’ epic pageantry. But I agree… those harmonious barges were an eye sore.
