Other tips on how to work faster. - stop caring about some minor detail. Yes, you can see it but most people won't. Like those small disconnected line art in unfocused area or insignificant object in the background. - Focus on major detail that is the main point of your illustration like face, eyes or other eye-catching parts instead of every detail of the illustration. - Keep practicing technique you have in your pocket. My first full CG illustration took me a month to finish but the next one took me about two weeks and it keeps getting faster. The more confident you have in your technique, the better and faster you work. - Try to develop your own work flow and stick to it. It is much faster when you have concrete workflow that you know exactly what you are doing and what you are going to do next. I really like tutorial in this channel that help breakdown the workflow of many profession artists but in the end, we all have to develop our own workflow that suit ourselves the most. - keep practicing the basic. Anatomy, Perspective, Gesture, Pose, color theory, composition, etc. I think it is pretty obvious. No matter how many techniques you have in your pocket, without those basic knowledge, you are going to struggle a lot and it will slow down your work.

my best advice for anyone just getting into art is to not worry about speed, drawing fast is something only professionals can afford to do, since they have drawn a lot, they can skip steps like "clean sketch" and instead just go rough sketch then straight into lineart, or in some cases just straight up start with lineart without having to deal with serious proportional issues. trying to speed run your drawings when you're still learning can potentially be detrimental to growth so if you ever feel concerned about time, don't be! you'll get faster eventually without even trying.

What I love about your art is that you notice that you lack something, rigorously learn how others do their technique, and instead of forcing yourself to be at their level, you admit that it’s hard for you and you relax the rules as to not put pressure on yourself, because art is supposed to be enjoyable, but learning is not a fun concept and can be tedious (not just for art but for everything), and you don’t want to lose passion for art itself. Great video, I learn a TON!

My guy your art is really improving a lot Me personally i take so fucking long to draw, i spend 40 mins to sketch and then take a 5 hour break. Not until recent when ive tried to streamline my process. Streamlining your process really gives you a road to look forward to and not question yourself constantly. So if u struggle with doubting the process try figuring out the way most comfortable to you. But also dont be shy of trying new things and adding to your paiting process to improve otherwise you may stagnate Good luck everyone!

Academically speaking, in art, you'll learn more from drawing 1 or more pieces a day than you will by spending a week on a single piece. You applied that concept here and your growth really shows. Excellent work!!

holy crap this video is ARTISTIC on so many levels. the editing, the graphics, the narration, and of course not to mention your art!

I did daily drawings for a year. 365 days, first started as an inktober challenge and I just decided to continue until I got tired of it (and it took a year to get tired of daily drawings) and... I can say I learned a lot about work process, coloring, etc. So while not a strict 2h drawing challenge (some took 1 hour, some took 4 hours, one even took 10 hours), it was a pretty interesting way to learn stuff. I gradually went from b/w stuff to full color, from basic backgrounds to entire neighbourhoods (part of the reason why some took a lot of hours, heh), even improved my anatomy a bit. Right now I'm on a bit of a break (a year of daily drawings can burn you out although I do try to do some sketches in a notebook most of the days) but the next step will be figuring out how to streamline stuff for comics so videos like these are interesting cause while my aim is a bit different (telling stories through sequences of images instead of single illustrations) it is always really interesting to see how others approach doing art.

After seeing all those attempts of different art styles, I wonder what it would look like if you picked all your favorite elements of those and used it all in one illustration. You've also grown a lot, all of these look so good! I should try this challenge myself

Also that repeated attempt at a good line... *I feel your pain.* Your vid really highlights the diminishing returns on time invested in a piece, which has been my experience, too. The 2 hr Challenge forces you to work in big blocks and get your idea down quickly: pose, composition, colors... Which is what matters most to a viewer, especially if they are looking at a thumbnail.

For me was really helpful picking up traditional art, especially charcoal drawing because you can say so much in so little and you can fill the paper super fast with it. I did a shorts video where I challenged myself to create a finished piece in 15 minutes and it actually was really nice. I know some artists sell their art cheaper when it took much longer to finish.

Congrats on your attempts man, the boost in confidence of knowing you can convey your ideas on a presentation level in just a couple hours is so liberating. You now know you don't have to spend 2.5 hours on a drawing only, like do take the time to make it as good as you need but hell. You can now do commissions ridiculously fast. Not an anime character artist myself but I'll subscribe only for more interesting studies and video journals of the things you learn.

Your ability to analyze is very impressive and you're not afraid to work hard. You're going to be absolutely be an art monster. As someone who's slow and very intimidated to draw as a result, I should really try to take a lesson out of your book.

I just noticed 1 obvious mistake that i was doing i never noticed before. When practicing I usually pick a real life reference and draw it in the "anime" style or take a reference from one of my favorite illustrators on pixiv and try to draw that, and every time i get confused on why i go over realistic in the ones that i pick a realistic ref and go unnecesarily minimalist when i am doing an illustrators work, its because i usually get too much focused on the ref and forget that i need to add some stuff to it, using 2 references one from the real life for the pose and 1 from the illustrators for the style is what i needed, every tip from the video was also great but this realization is the real gold i found here :D THANK YOU SO MUCH!

this video was a blast to watch, seeing all of your studies from your previous videos being incorporated in a single vid! ive been binging your learning videos! its so fun to see the extremely well editing and the attempts! fighting tppo!!!! you can do it! my drawing style can be both fast and slow, depending on my headspace at that moment rip some days i can fully complete a painted style in 3 hours, some days i need like, a week to finish a single illustration it's most probably because of perfectionism though, i hate seeing mistakes and i always want my lineart to be perfect in a single stroke, and im tackling some of those issues so i dont hyperfocus on one thing or second guess my own work. i guess this is a sign for me to try not worrying lmao
