My daughter hunts deer with my old Ithica .410. I load my own shells with a .375 wad cutter 156g to make a 10mm carbine out of a smooth bore.

Hey nice review! I need a slug deer gun for my very inexperienced stepson. He’s like 5’7and 160 lbs, so you think that the 20 gauge youth version might be a good option for him? Dad would be buying and definitely looking for the most affordable option! If you have any tips for setting it up please let me know! Thanks.

Matt, great review. I really like the way it looks in the wood style. Those cons suck. If I was buying it for myself, I would be fine with it. But, the fact that it is made for a youth is the issue. I understand the price tag. Is there a fix for the hammer, at least? I hate to say it, but Rossi is looking better all the time. My nephew just got one. After handling that, my mind was blown. No fixes that I know of, I grew up shooting a New England single shot 12 gauge with the same issue but a lighter hammer, sure would be nice to have the button safety tho

@manvsdeer I never had a safety on a shotgun until I became an adult. Check that on a gun I used as a minor. I used a 30-30 and a single shot 20ga. Dad always said don't cock it til ya mean ta kill it. My daughter has a safety on all of her guns except the .243, my dad bought her. Go figure. Haha!
