Art Projects Ibiza + Lune Rouge are delighted to present their summer exhibition with Tracey Emin; "An Insane Desire for You" exhibits explicit yet subtle and mysterious nuances regarding the female body, power, and desire. Emin's works make as powerful a statement in contemporary society today as they did back when she started addressing and unveiling these topics.
In this conversation with Jeremy Strick (Director, Nasher Sculpture Center, Dallas), the artist discloses what is behind this show, how her life made her grew wiser to these days and how meaningful art is to her.
In collaboration with Xavier Hufkens.

@@teomankarasimsek1756"My Bed" and "Everyone I have ever slept with 1963-1995" are my favourite ones. Strong concepts behind strong images that challenge our perception of what art is and reactivate this ever going debate. Concepts that relate the personal to the universal. These works put me in her shoes, and don't tell me that by confronting yourself with "my bed" you did not recall the worst period of your life, your most depressed moments, when you didn't even want to leave your bed. Or that when you see the tent, you are not tempted to bring into your brain all your past erotic partners, contemplating about what they left behind - if anything -, and thinking what love is, what relationships are, how and why people come and go, and inevitably who that person was who stamped your heart.

Tracy Emin is a survivor,whatever you think about her,she has taken huge amounts of flak and carried on showing.Many inside the artworld and out want to see her fail,but she has alway's taken them on.When she emerged in the nineties it was refreshing,the artworld needed a woman artist like her,not some Jemima from the bloomsbury group.

Emin also pisses off lots of people who are not so-called experts. The majority of comments here regard Emin's work to be worthless crap. Emin is a pathetic self-absorbed egomaniac who has no artistic skill or talent. Anyone could tip their rubbish on the floor of a gallery and call it conceptual art then spout a load of waffle regarding its meaning in order to gaslight onlookers. Admiring a piece of work on the grounds of it being controversial and not for its own merit is an adolescent attitude.
