Yo!
In cooperation with ben3847, we are proud to present you a video of one of the first "Press Forward" tracks in the Lagoon environment of TrackMania Turbo.
Lagoon seems to be extremely well suitable for tracks like this since the new magnetic rollercoaster blocks offer completely new possibilities to work with. Especially with TrackMania² Lagoon, which will hopefully be released later this year, I'm positive we'll see some ultra crazy PF's there as well. Oh and look at that bugfin!
Anyways, hope you enjoy this track as much as I did! :)

How do you make maps like these? I'm really curious, is it just thousands of tests or is there a way to 'pause' the car and see where it is and build around it?

+Jonas Rom thousands of tests pretty much. you can use ingame mediatracker to see the cars movement better, but you still have to drive the track to see if what you built actually works

tbh (in german): Ich muss dir mal großen Respekt zollen für diesen Videoschnitt. Ich hab in der Schule auch das Fach Gestaltungs- und Medientechnik und da lernt man auch wie man so etwas zusammenschneidet, ich habe es noch NIE bei einem "ungelernten" Cutter gesehen, dass er die Musik perfekt auf das Bildmaterial abgestimmt hat. Das Previewmaterial (praktisch Vorspann) ist auch unglaublich gut gewählt, fesselt und hat das gewisse etwas (witzigerweise beachtest du "Grundregeln" eines Films, am Anfang eine Totale um einen Überblick über die Situation zu bekommen und dann zeigst du kleine, kurze Ausschnitte von sehr schönen stellen). Das Bildmaterial ist, wie immer, absolut erste Sahne. Schade finde ich das die Musik bei dem Holzpart (ab 1:20) eher abflacht, es ist das Ende der Map, aber für mich eine der besten Szenen. Und nun zur Map.... Einfach nur Awesome, ben zeigt hier genau was machbar ist in Lagoon und zeigt auch was für eine schöne Sandbox TMT hier bietet. Eine der besten Maps die ich bisher sehen durfte und sie ist nicht nur Strecke, sondern sie hat auch eine Szenerie. Sehr sehr gutes Video, schöne Kreation. Very nice Video, beautiful map and incredible cutting skills!

Danke für die netten Worte, freut mich sehr. Bin ja schon etwas länger in der TM-Moviemakingszene dabei, von daher weiß ich schon in etwa, wie so ein Video aussehen soll. Die Audio/Video-Synchronisation und die Auswahl der Kameraperspektiven waren in der Hinsicht also geplant, sowas gehört für mich einfach immer dazu. Das mit der Musik ist natürlich ärgerlich, leider hat kein anderer Song so gut gepasst wie der hier :P

It is a lot of work for sure, especially when you're trying to build a PF of really high quality. People sometimes spend months or years on building a PF track.

Pro tip: You can switch to the old editor by going with your mouse to the top of the screen, hitting the cogwheel icon and choosing "Classic Trackbuilder".
