Absolutely...microphone clenched in right hand with his left half way down the stand..If there was ever the equivalent of a Mount Rushmore of Grunge.then Laneghan & Layne's image would be carved there forever ❤

I watched the premiere of this and little did I know it would be Mark's last. The opening lines are so powerful... great guitar too. How poignant is this now in light of our loss :( RIP to the mighty Mark. What a legend Love the shots of the trees and Skeleton Joe on the pier by the water.

Still moves me to tears Joe seeing Mark's last projects with you..just phenomenal you should be proud !👍 Today is my first day in a respite care place after catching Covid 19 in an NHS hospital in NW England..Just done 114 days completely locked in isolation in a zero pressure room where everyone I spoke to wore masks & plastic..Laneghan's words and wisdom have got me through ..listened to both his autobiographies on Audible and it was weird from the grave his wisdom & honesty kind of got me tbrough..I knew I was ' on the mend ' lol the first day I.played Songs for the Deaf so loud ...god it was great!lol..I had ' substance issue's lol from the age of 16 right through the 80' s ,90' s & beyond...yeah I think.many of us can relate to his raw honesty about his years as a junkie...Rest easy Mark Lanegan ..kind of pleased you spent your last year's over my neck of the woods..I cried like a baby the day he died..Take care Joe xx

Watching Mark sing to himself especially post mortem......is something that is uniquely Lanegan and eerily appropriate for the last project that he worked on.Skeleton Joe knows it too and in making it happen in this video he releases what is the ultimate tribute too Mark's genius, life and work.Joe being a collaborator and good friend of Mark's is the owner of a rare emotional vantage point in this matter.Mark was a rare talent and character who in the long run turned out too be the true consumate professional of the Seattle artists. His personal journey unlike anyone else from that group of artists while at the same time being so original in his work that he is completely separated from all his peers perhaps most of all the band of his early experience whose name I will not mention out of my personal respect for Mark himself. The man was on a completely different wavelength than most human beings....let alone any of his musical peers or friends from Seattle. The only people that even get remotely close are Layne Staley(perhaps Mark's best ever friend) and Kurt Cobain with whom Mark had a great and sadly short lived friendship & eorking relationship with.In all actuality no other rock-n-roll singers even get close to Mark's vocal or musical approach or talents. The man was an absolute innovator, survivor, brother and friend who stayed relevant on a professional and personal level rarely witnessed in this life. Thanks Skeleton Joe for releasing yet more excellent content from your last collaboration with Mark which is also Mark's last musical venture in the long tortured yet victorious trek that was his life. Thank you Mark, for your originality, resilience and wisdom and may you forever rest within the presence of peace..........

Agree with your comments. Thought he was on a different wavelength, too, and yes, this collaboration with Joe Cardamone is brilliant. I read recently that he hoped/wanted to continue learning until he died which he did.

@@jb0529 I enjoyed your comments as well.I was 6 and a half years into my own sobriety when I turned on KZfaq one day and someone had uploaded "Sing Backwards and Weep" in it's entirety in audiobook version. The book completely blew me away and touched the deepest caverns of my heart.Since getting clean on 9/16/14 I have been reading the stories of my favorite musicians and writers who have been too hell and back on heroin too constantly remind myself of the hell I do not wish too return too.Listening too Mark's book of course also caused me too dive head first into his solo material and I became even further engrossed in the history of his music and life.I don't think I will ever fully be able too express how much of a positive effect reading Mark's personal story and getting caught up with his musical endeavors has had on my life and my own songwriting.Even the title of his autobiography though I hadn't heard it previously I could definitely relate strongly too the words "Sing Backwards and Weep" because I had previously felt that way as both a musician and a heroin addict.Though I never knew Mark personally some of my closest brothers in life and myself lived a very similar existence and this is why I also sometimes refer to Mr.Lanegan as "a true brother" as well as the fact that his stories and music help me too remain clean to this day......

@@briandaniels2126 Congrats on the clean time and you have an anniversary coming up. I am a 12 stepper. I read both of his books and have some questions that now will never be answered. I couldn't put either of his books down. What a life he had. I also think about what a different and more than likely better person he became. In listening to this Dark Mark Skeleton Joe album and the lyrics, I am beginning to wonder if he was ill with something other than COVID. Just thinking out loud. I hope he knew how much he was loved and how he helped so many people by his example.
