A very busy Shrewsbury today for the opening 'Cambrian Coast Express' of the year for Pathfinder. Lots of viewers out for this one with a few loud annoying individuals in the crowd also. (You know who you are - Have fun but no shouting and swearing next time pls)
See Royal Train loco 67005 arrive with the coaching stock from Reading - 67005 detaches and heads off for Coton Hill with ERTMS compliant 97302 & 97304 (minus nameplates) arriving to take over across the Cambrian Coast line.
Hope you enjoy the video! All swearing has been edited out (where possible).

Thank you for such an *excellent* video! Can I ask a question? One of the Mk 2 coaches at the beginning of the video had what appears to be a generator at one end. Is this used to power the lighting and heating/air conditioning, and is it used all the time or just when the assigned loco(s) is/are not able to do so on their own?

Yes, it's needed when non-ETS locos (like the 37s) are working the train. It looked like the 67 was providing ETS when it arrived

Might seem like an odd question, but is there any particular reason other membrrs of the 37 fleet ( besides converts to 97---) can't operate to Pwhelli ?

None of the class 37 have ERTMS signaling equipment fitted which is needed for the Cambrian line. 👍
