This song really speaks to my soul. I've been loving Tracy Chapman for decades now. Her music is timeless. We both were in the ABC program, we went to the same college and I stayed in the same room she was in during college. I grew up listening to Tracy Chapman. We weren’t allowed to watch tv in my house but there was always music… always. I spent so many nights growing up laying in my bed crying praying for God to save me. To change my life and take me out of the situation I was in and listening to songs from Tracy pour through the house. I didn’t know it then but God was helping me through the music. I first heard Tracy Chapmen while repainting the youth leaders living room. She had this album on CD. I learnt so much from her messages, like what it means to put soul in your perspective. My late uncle passed on April 2004.... he was the one who introduced me and my siblings to Tracy..... even today in 2023, she remains my favourite..... I remember in 2007, i listened to her songs every single day for the whole year.....that's how much i loved her

Her voice has such an authentic, unique quality. I grew up on her music. I love that she never sold out, and was never a an egomaniac.
