Correct me if I'm wrong but : for a beginner trader who want to buy blue chip stocks (apple ,tesla ,nvidia...) if he only have 2000$ that would buy him less than 10 shares ! Cost per share would be the best choice for him right ? I mean it's only 10 shares ! Why paying 5$ (cost per trade) for just 10 shares

Thank you for the great videos Clay. A quick question about LightSpeed fees. As far as I know, there are three types of fees I will have to pay for trading; Commission fee (per share), routing fee (per share), and regulatory fee (0.0000221 X principal amount sold). Routing fee seems to be the most expensive one I think, am I missing something here? is there a way to avoid paying the routing fee on LightSpeed? Thank you very much in advance.

Hey, hope you can answer my question. I’ve always thought brokers charged commission by taking a percentage of the trade. If you for example spend 100$, the broker would charge 10% of it as commission. Is it any truth in this?

Maybe a dumb question but can you talk about transactional value? Like some brokers have “$29.95 for a trade with a transaction value of between $10,000...” What is the meaning of that?

That just means how much money you are tossing around dictates the fees.

I see some brokers have an inactivity fee, now let's say for some reason I know I wont be able to trade for a while, are there steps you can take, account details to change, whatever it may be to make sure you don't get an inactivity fee? Or do you have to delete your account then. Because the last thing I want is to come back after a couple of months to see I have to pay an inactivity fee. Don't know how all of this works yet. Thanks in advance.

The spread goes nowhere, unless you're in the Forex market for example.

Then that wouldn't be the truth. There are multiple ways a broker can charge you fees, as I illustrated.

Hi Clay, to start I want to say great video and great channel! Then I would like to know which is a good broker to start day trading without being very active! A broker without 25k balance to unlock day trading and high maintenance account fee for inactive account. Until now i'v been using robinhood to buy stocks and sell them over the long period but now that I want to start with day trading with less than 25k robinhood it doesn't work anymore for me.please give me a personal opinion

When trading the ES. If you trade 4 contracts st a time. Is that considered one trade or 4? I know fees will accrue both ways, buying and selling.

ive been using a demo platform now for about 5 months and ive just counted the amount they "charged me" for overnight fees which amount roughly a £1000 , is this a rip off as im concerned for when a go real money

I gotta problem. I'm paper trading BTCUSD, and starting at a reasonable amount, (180usd) I got that up. To about 10k. However. At 10k, I set my commission for 1% (like it shows you 1-percent) and ill start a trade with a risk of like 100 dollars and as soon as I enter ill be down thousands of dollars(even tho it goes my way!)... Is it's really like this????

@claytrader well. (And i think it might just be a paper glitch) If it's dropping 4k in a trade regardless on a 1% commission of earnings or losses than I'd loose 4k on a 10 dollar gamble.... it doesn't ad up and I've never heard of this before. It doesn't do that when I set a dollar amount though.
