Great video man! Nice work on the arrows. I’ve really enjoyed your videos. I just bought a recurve a few weeks ago and I’m already hooked. I was just wondering what was involved in building arrows. I might have to invest in some equipment now. Have a good one thks

awesome little vid. I haven't tried the paint pens yet, I also sign my arrows up by the fletchings with the wieght of the spine ( mostly shooting woods) and the grain of the point. Once again like you said we all do something a little different. Just did up some carbons for my wife this morning. Thanks again for your videos they are great reference material for when I go back to doing stuff I don't do that often. Quick question though, when you are bare shafting your arrows how far back from the target do you stand and can a weak arrow wobble so much that when it hits the target that it looks stiff?

prepare painting swirls on my arrows and they look great they and to the spine a little but they went straight into the inner ring of our targets

Just as an aesthetic choice, can you use raven feathers? I think they'd look nice on a dark wood arrow or one painted black.

When i read the title saying traditional, i thought you finally had been taking up on my request on showing the process from wooden plank to finished wooden arrow. A little dissapointed i must say but good video anyway for those who haven't seen your early videos on how to prepare arrows :) ATB Jukio4

Hi Tomas. I'm José from Spain. You can buy it for example in Amazon. Look at this: www.amazon.com/Bohning-Class-Fletching-Straight-Clamp/dp/B0000AVE3W I have a metallic one. The name of this "machine" in english is "Fletching Jig". You can find a lot on the internet.

so i've been shooting at a community center that uses a net to catch any arrows that miss the target butts, but my arrows are thin enough that it can actually get through the netting. when I saw your tip on adding "fletching cement" to the tip of the feathers to help it, I thought it was ingenious but I wanted to ask what kind of glue that was? we dont have many archery supply stores where I live and wondering if it might be something I can pick up somewhere else. I do have fletching glue that I got a while ago which seems to be very very similar to crazy glue. but when I tried this trick out with this, it kind of evaporated and didnt really leave much behind, im still worried that the feather might still catch and might get stripped.

I am new to Archery and I was wondering if you could explain the odd feather in the fetching and how and why it is set on the arrow?
@Enumidar
@Enumidar 7 жыл бұрын
The different colored one? It's there to make sure you have the arrow correctly on the string. You want the odd one close to you. Its the same type of feather, its just differently colored.
@halifzent2686
@halifzent2686 4 жыл бұрын
odd colored one should be set out of the bow. It is set to avoid friction between the fletching ang bow.
