Alex Miller is a 17-year-old singer/songwriter who is currently competing on season 19 of American Idol. The lifelong Garrard county native hails from the community of Lancaster, Kentucky, where he works part-time on his grandfather’s cattle farm. Alex’s interest in music was sparked by his grandfather’s love of traditional country music and an interest in trains. For his audition, Alex performed a song he wrote for his ex-girlfriend, "I'm Over You, So Get Over Me."

At 71 years old and grew up in Nashville Tennessee where country music is King, I am so glad to hear traditional country music. The only fear I have for you is that as you progress in your dream of singing the real country music, is that I hope you never change and never forget singing to cows that brought you where you are. I am a blue grass picker myself and I understand your dream.

Alex I think you're fabulous. You're just what country needs again. I wish I had seen you in Pigeon Forge when you were here. Or even Renfro Valley. My husband and I had a motor coats and we would travel from Gatlinburg to Renfro Valley and attend a lot of shows up there. Have you ever heard of Quinton Flagg??? I'd love love love to hear the two of you together, wow your personalities so so much alike.

I think Alex absolutely has what it takes to win American Idol. He has an amazing voice and seems like such a humble down to earth young man, who clearly loves singing. I think he is what country music needs.

My wife and I have been country music fans for 60 years. We've been to countless concerts, festivals, etc. all over North America and we think Alex is fantastic.!!!!! We love his music and he gets 200% of our vote.

Cannot wait to see him perform again. So far I don't see anyone that comes close to his talent and personality. I believe he will go far. Alex and Luke together were just the Best. I hope they will get together again later in the show.

I'm starting to really admire this young man. The confidence he brings to the stage, and how that easily comes through in the songs makes him tremendously likeable, and easy to listen to. Honestly, I expected a corny, cringy audition but was pleasantly surprised by his sunny disposition and the twinkle in his smile, hope he keeps that up. He may or may not win AI but he'll probably be in the top five. Along with this, he'll have more open doors available to him as far as his music career goes. Awesome job Alex! Keep it up. 👍

Alex is a true American Idol...standing true to his spiritual beliefs...working with the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame to keep its doors open during Covid...and he is a very talented young person who is a great example for all Americans! He deserves the title of American Idol...it needs to be about talent and hard work in the industry not a sad, sob story...this young man has already put in more time than most all the other contestants combined!

I remember watching Garth Brooks "at the Grand Ole' Opry", I'll never forget how humble he was, he sang "Too young to feel this damn old", Alex Miller is just a little bit better. I hope to see him in the future, he's got a prosperous future in store. Another thing, to hear Lionel Ritchie say what he did about this young man speaks volumes. It is So refreshing and wonderful to see and hear this talented young man who has stuck to his roots and his heart, and continues to play classic country. His songwriting is amazing, and I thank the judges for not putting blinders on and hearing him sing the way he believes and loves.
