I first found out that I have gout (gikt) after eating Swedish Christmas food at a Julbord in 2001. So much protean and sausage and pate made from offal. It was the 19 December and I just remember falling asleep in Denderyd's Hospital whilst the nurses and doctors tested my blood etc. It was a welcome rest from the Christmas stress and although it wasn't great to hear that I have a tendency to get gout (my father has always got it too), I was glad that it was not something more serious. I lived in Sweden for 20 years. Long enough to make Julbordet part of my own Christmas food tradition where ever I have lived since. He doesn't talk about it here but I recommend the Janssons frestelse at Christmas. It is very rich, but it will not give you gout. 👍

Thank you for your video... I am Canadian but my Mother was Swedish-Finlander born in Vaasa and so I was brought up with the Swedish traditional foods at Christmas. I am planning my own Christmas for this year and just wanted to touch base with these traditions again as I make up my menus for our family this year 2022. I won't have everything you mentioned, but definitely much of it. Thanks again...
