Should the Hawks trade either Trae or Dejounte?

I hope Tre Young likes Mexican food and big women, cause that’s all he’s gonna see when he ends up in San Antonio 🫡

Great video!! You should do some trades at the trade deadline when some of the superstars are not untouchables anymore

As an Orlando Magic fan I'd love Trae to join Paolo and Franz that would be a huge inclusion especially if we can get rid of Fultz, Isaac and a first

Trae and Suggs fit together pretty well. ORL did draft Anthony Black rly high so idk what their plan is there, but they need a floor general who can get buckets. Suggs seems like the ideal guy next to Trae assuming his 3P shot is real. As someone who doesn’t need the ball, is an AMAZING defender, is young, can handle the ball, and hit 3s he’d be perfect. They really need Franz and/or Paolo to become a more consistent 3P shooter. If Franz can get to like 37% on maybe 5-6 3PA PER 36 that’s fine enough, and if Paolo has a stretch 5 next to him, he really only needs to be like a 33-35% 3P shooter or just be able to hit open corner 3s. I don’t think ORL should bring back Fultz. Isaac is non gtd so obv they’ll keep him and see if he can stay healthy. Ingles TO will get declined. Idk what they’d move to get Trae tho…maybe Jett Howard, Caleb Houstan, their ‘24 1st, the DEN ‘25 1st they have, then ‘29/‘31 1sts with a ‘30 swap? So 4 1sts, a swap, Jett Howard, and Houstan…then cap relief bc they can take on most of Trae’s deal without sending much back. It’s def interesting. If I am ATL and I want to move Trae tho the first team I’m calling is SAS, bc if I move Trae I’m rebuilding. I’d want their own ‘25/‘27 1sts and ‘26 swap back, prolly that TOR pick this year if it falls to 7/8, then that CHI 1st they have. They can send back like Zach Collins and another small to medium sized contract back and give them cap relief as well. If I trade Trae tho I’m def taking calls on Dejounte too…and I’m 100% moving Bogdan and Capela. Ideally you get the picks from SAS for Trae, some high upside picks/swaps from LAL for Dejounte (maybe ‘29 1st, ‘28 swap, P17, JHS, Gabe Vincent, and whatever other tiny salary needed to make it work) then hopefully a late 1st for Bogdan and a late 1st or a few really good 2nds for Capela. If they were able to do that, they’d be setup insanely well to rebuild. Having like P7-8, P10, P17 in ‘24 draft. Prolly move up with like 8/17 if they rly like someone higher then move 10 for a future 1st or something. Then they’d have all their own picks, SAC 1st, (T12 protected in ‘25, T10 in ‘26) CHI ‘25 1st, LAL ‘29 1st, LAL ‘28 swap, at least one more 1st from trading Bogdan and/or Capela, then JHS, Jalen Johnson, AJ Griffin, Bufkin, Onyeka, etc etc. I doubt they’ll actually tear it down like that, but it’d be malpractice if they don’t move one of the two. Also it’s time to move on from Capela and give Onyeka the keys.

It’d depend on the offers but if I’m the GM I’m open to moving anyone on the roster basically. I think Jalen Johnson is someone where there’s rly no reason to move him, but I don’t like to say untouchable bc he’s obviously not. Onyeka is also v young and I’d keep him. They have P10 in this draft, then SAC 1st T12 protected in ‘25, T10 in ‘26. Obv don’t have their ‘25/‘27 1sts and ‘26 swap. If I’m trading Trae I’d really want it to be SAS because if I’m moving him I’m rebuilding, so I need those picks bc they’d be good lotto picks. Something like Trae for those two 1sts and one swap, the TOR pick assuming it falls to 7 or 8, and then that CHI 1st they have. They’ll have cap so they can take on a lot of Trae’s $, but they’d need to send like 20 back I think. Maybe a little less. So I’d take back Zach Collins contract, that’d help SAS so it’d get ATL more value. So let’s say Collins, Devonte grahams partially gtd contract, let’s say pick 7, ATL’s own ‘25/‘27 1sts and ‘26 swap, and that CHI 1st for Trae Young. I’d definitely do that. If it’s another team I’d really need some great picks that are like sure to be lotto picks in the future, or a young guy. I think LAL is prolly the best for Dejounte if they’re willing to give up JHS/P17/‘29 1st unprotected, and ‘28 swap unprotected. I’d take back Vincent’s deal back, and then for the rest of the salary you have JHS, P17’s salary, then prolly max Christie in a S&T that’s heavily team controlled and team friendly. Maybe 3/24 flat loaded with a 4th year team option or something like that. I’d highly value an LAL 2029 unprotected 1st, the upside is immense. Same with ‘28 swap, you have to expect to be good in 27-28 and LAL is unlikely to be good in ‘28 and ‘29. So just from the Dejounte move they’d have P10/17 in this draft, LAL ‘29, LAL ‘28 swap, SAC 1st T12 protected in ‘25 and T10 in ‘26, then JHS, Christie, Jalen Johnson, Onyeka, AJ Griffin, etc. I’d try to move Bogdan for a meh future 1st, same with Capela. At that point they’d have a lot of flexibility with a lot of good movable picks and young guys. They could re tool around Trae, or move Trae depending on the offers at that point. So ya ideally you could get the picks back from SAS for Trae along w others, then high upside picks from LAL plus young guys for Dejounte, add a cpl more with Bogdan and Capela moves, their own 10th pick, etc. They’d be in great shape for a rebuild. But there’s absolutely 0 doubt that they need to make big moves this offseason.
