Sorry, Rob. You're wrong about this one. People know Doffy way more than they know Danzo. Doflamingo has been on merchandizing for decades and was in pre-timeskip. Danzo didn't even show up nor was named until Shippuden.

Danzo is massively overshadowed within Naruto by Pain and Madara. Meanwhilst Doffy is almost universally accepted as the best One Piece villain, maybe only overshadowed recently by Kaido (depends on personal preference) or Akainu (because even non One Piece fans know *that* Marineford scene)

Doflamingo easily got it over Danzo in terms of recognition. Danzo isn’t as memorable in my opinion. And gets overshadowed by other Naruto baddies. Now Orochimaru, Pain and and Madara definitely more recognizable than Doffy at least in the US.

More viewers means characters become mainstream. Put it this way, DBZ has more viewers than Death Note, and so therefore so.eone who has not watched both animes would easily recognize a super saiyan before recognizing a shinigami or L or something. Why? Bc of DBZ having more viewers, it's characters have now been given a more mainstream spotlight meaning more casual people have a chance to come across them even in when not being in the anime circles. That was Rob's point; he believed that Danzo was elevated to a more casual level bc of Naruto potentially having more viewers than One Piece and therefore more casual non anime fans would recognize Danzo over Doffy.

Nagato, Yahiko, Konan and Jiraiya are some of my all time favorite anime characters. I just lost interest after the Pain arc. Honestly I knew doffy before danzo because in kid naruto i didn’t see danzo but in shippuden I seen him in the office with tsunade, for one piece I seen doffy when belimere got defeated by luffy and doffy showed up. I've watched Naruto from start to finish inclouding shippuden more than 4times. And only watched OP once, yet there is no doubt in my mind that Doffy is way way wayyyy more recognize than Danzo. Watched both shows since I was a like 6yo. OP/bleach/Naruto the big 3!! Saying Pain/Madara more recognized over doffy I'd understand. But Danzo!?!? Fck nooo!!! I remember him perfectly yet he is nowhere near doffy when it come to recognition!! And rob doesnt know how to debate FR!! He is just yelling, not letting anyone say shit, and then says "I let u finish talking so dont Intterupt and let me talk" as if he ever stopped talking... Rob is just hating adn doesn't really care for anyone's opinnion, unless it support his own.

So Jerry the type of guy that no one in the group listens to. Why? Ppl speak over him the most Then we got Rob, has to speak over others and has no desire to pave way for anyone else. Pat out here somewhat maneuvering and wellz trying to be stoic. Or atleast monetize the chaos. I hate that they don't look out for one another. Let each one finish saying something and proceed to make room for someone else's opinion. Be healthy about it.

So at my work, their are these giant boxes, and people draw characters on them, Goku, Vegetta, and such. The One Piece character I seen drawn the most Luffy, Zoro, and Doffy. However Naruto characters that are Drawn the most are Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, and Obito. No one draws Danzo. One thing that people forget is that their are many watchers that will literally not watch the whole series, they literally will watch the best arcs of a series because someone told them just to watch those arcs.

the biggest factor for a show getting hella well known, especially an animated one is how good the dub is, notice all the most liked shows in the west have amazing dubs, sadly one piece dub is goofy as hell and really doesn't do the characters justice becuz of how unique their characters and their voice are. thats the biggest reason naruto got so popular in the west to me on top of it having a creepy mystery factor to it that people who'd see one piece on the surface wouldn't think it has it compared to naruto.

Jerry is right. Lets take if off Anime and go to Music. I think we can all agree Michael Jackson is more popular than Drake. We can also agree that Thriller is a way more popular album than Scorpion. But it would be foolish to think that the like of Baby be Mine and Girl is Mine are more popular than God's Plan or In My Feeling. Because at the end of the day its still Drake we talking about.
