Hope it doesn’t happen in your city. They passed that in Philly and the city is literally going down the drain. Speeding, hit and runs, shootings, drug trafficking, the list goes on of the increased crime due to that. Its crazy
@PhiberOptik19792 жыл бұрын
I just retired from police work as a Sergeant and I am with you on this one. I worked in a very very busy city and there wasn't a lot of time to be proactive like this and stop people for traffic violations, but sometimes people would be put on traffic detail or something, but throughout my career I had stopped thousands of cars, and can 100% support your statement that traffic stops for minor infractions can sometimes lead to big arrests. I arrested people for anything from a little crack or heroin to people wanted for murder as a result of traffic stops. People seem to have the notion that we are just trying to make money for the city by pulling folks over. Nothing could be further from the truth. The Cops don't get a cut of ticket money so why would we care to put ourselves in a lot of danger just to earn the city a little money. And by "a little money" i do mean a little. In big agencies such as Sheriff's offices, State Police, or busy metro areas, ticket money does not do a damn thing for the city because only about 30% of it goes to the them. The rest of it goes to the state, county, madd, victims rights advocacy groups and other things. An entire year's worth of traffic tickets might keep a court open for maybe 3 months if the city doesn't budget money to run the courts. I worked in a major US city, but had a part time job in the suburbs, the town had about 40,000 people there and were known for writing a lot of traffic tickets and it still only accounted for 6.65% of the entire city budget. That 6.65% was put into the police department's general fund with an earmark for training and equipment. I didn't write a lot of tickets either way but I sure pulled over a lot of cars for minor infractions to see if there was something else going on and a lot of times there was. For instance I pulled up behind a car in a left turn lane at a red light but when the light turned green he didn't move. I blew my air horn at him and he still didn't move. So i turned my lights on and got out to find him passed out drunk with puke all over himself and also, a sock filled with smaller bags of crack. And i'm not talking an ankle sock, I am talk about a big 80's style tube sock that you could pull halfway up your leg and there was even crack falling out of the top so there was probable cause to search right there because it was in plain view. But he was also drunk so his car would have been searched subsequent to arrest anyway, but there was also a loaded handgun in the door of the car and he had about $4,000 on him. I bet the guy waiting on his crack delivery was pissed. lol

Why is it that criminals are always so stupid?

They have the Spirit of Error... This makes them always screw things up. This comes from being a child of darkness.

Many years ago, to be a criminal, one only needed to be stupid. Today, with all the modem technology and new laws of big brother, to be a criminal, one must be extra stupid.

I was helping my nephew study for his driver's license exam and was surprised to read in the manual that the left lane is ONLY to be used for passing. Otherwise you're supposed to stay in the right lanes.

My favorite part is when he just knocks the plate off onto the ground and is like "come on"
@abcusa123mich2 жыл бұрын
My guess is that he randomly ran the plates saw something, and then used the left turn lane thing as an excuse to pull him over.
@jtaylor34472 жыл бұрын
If he ran the plate and it came back to another car like it did tht was enough for the stop alone fictions tags is enough PC
@elizaehrlich2 жыл бұрын
@@jtaylor3447You're right. Either way the cop had probable cause (left lane hogging or non-matching plates). Any thoughts about flipping the sticky plate off though? Does that constitute a search? And if so, was it lawful?

A Lot of the time hospitals have poor security and you can rip a lot of info about patients to later commit identity fraud.

Tbh it was probably just in the same bag as the stolen laptop. Doesn't strike me as the kind of fellow who'd know what to do with that kind of info.

You're the first comment I see bringing up the search 👍 Some footage is missing so I'm going to assume the party gave consent to search or it was a search incident to arrest (if not, the search becomes legally questionable). However, what about flipping the sticky license plate off? I'm wondering if that also constitutes a search.

This guy will bond out in 24 hours, get a plea deal that keeps him out of jail and he’ll add one more line to his extensive rap sheet…. with no end in sight. Despite that, I’m glad you’re actually pulling over the “left lane hogs”. Think of it as the “broken windows” concept of law enforcement. People willing to break the little laws and inconvenience others for their own selfish ends probably don’t give a Sh** when it comes to the bigger laws.
@fierybutmostlypeaceful17082 жыл бұрын
Folks the real crime here is hogging the left lane.
