Gave Dream’s theme a remake so I figured, why not do Nightmare too, and complete the villain gang songs.
This one was a lot of fun to make.

People joke about cleaning Nightmare to fix him, since he's not made of that stuff, but is covered in it. Please, spare me the jokes. The negativity has seeped into his bones, his mind, his very SOUL. And now? He can't be fixed. There's a reason Dream never tried undoing it. Because his brother is gone forever, replaced by that... t h i n g .

There is also the fact Nightmare did actually become the sludge it isn't just a coating as we see in underverse when Dream shreds Nightmare to bits he not only survives but reforms entirely unharmed

Honestly, I don’t really like your other songs, but people seemed to like you on Spotify, so I checked back periodically. And today, I was greeted with THIS. Many of your other songs feels dissonant, and over emphasize the beats rather than the melody. But I could hear the tune in this one. This is a song I could remember. The start of the song was what really let me know this one was something special. It had a set of notes that flowed well, and were reused in small ways throughout the composition. And when you give it a build up starting around 0:51 that slowly leads to that shift at 1:21, that was fantastic. I love the dark, energetic tone that just rings malevolence there.But my favorite but has to be at 2:42 where you use that incredibly fast note combination that’s kind of like the ones you use in previous songs, but this one… it just flows so much better, and it honestly gets me pumped. My biggest criticism with the song is you should have ended the song on an E instead of a C to fit with the rest of the song being in the E key. That’s my biggest criticism! I don’t know if you’ll read this, but I’ll be keeping a closer eye on you from now on. This song was just a cut above the rest for me, and it seems like you’re starting to really improve!

Thank you, I'm glad you like it, though I do find your comment about the melody vs beat a little strange (funny strange, not bad strange). My newer style is much more hardcore than my previous ones. Songs like Breathless and Parasitic Funk have very fast rythmic parts occuring in tandem with the melody, and this song as well has some very fast kicks, but for the most part, any of my older songs are almost purely melody focused. Perhaps it's just that I mix drums better in newer songs now, meaning they have less presence despite being more impactful. I've always been someone very incapable of letting go of a melody, so you'll find very prominent leitmotifs in all my songs. at least a lot more so than anyone who writes in a similarly intense electronic style, where they'll drop the melody almost completely in favour of rhythm. The vast majority of my songs are built around melodies. Even more so than people like SharaX (newer songs) or FrostFM, who typically write less intense drum parts, but either write very little melody, very repetitive melody, or write unusual ones with less repition. Songs like Triumph, Encore, Plummet, Supersede, We still have the Stars, and Everywhere in Time are all extremely melody focused. Id recommend checking out the first three. The only songs I'd think fit your description of both dissonant and beat focused are either Data Corrupted, Eccentricity, Breathless, and Parasitic Funk, two of which are Error themes, and two of which were me testing out very intense drum parts. If you like this song however, Blackhole is, in my opinion, a better song in a very similar style, though the melodies in Blackhole are definitely more complex. A similar song melody wise is Triumph. As for ending on E instead of C. Trust me, I noticed it and tried it many different ways, but the build up into it did not land whatsoever. The note you'd most likely expect if you remove the synth build up to the end hit is in fact C. You can put this into a daw to try for yourself. Ending on C worked best for the ending of the bars that came before it and is still well within the expected scale, even for an ending note.

This feels like a telling of powers to me, corrupt trying to push back the feelings and emotions left by passive, and continuing to try to keep the sadistic feelings of corrupt to stay, while being stuck in battles and other stressful events, really deep emotions behind it through my idea/how i see it
