"The narcissist's greatest weapon is not his charm, it is his unconditional love. With the unconditional / mother's love he offers his victim an irresistible temptation: the chance at an idealized childhood." [paraphrased] That is a facet I never realized and it explains why getting rid of this monster was so heartbreaking! This clears up SO much confusion and anguish for me. You're a genius, professor, thanks again for your inimitable knowledge and articulation. PS - Thanks for putting it simply for us pigeons. xD

"Psychology is a continuation of medieval theology by other means and with a pretension of objectivity and science ... the vast majority of what we call 'evil' is caused by people with Cluster-B personality disorders ... end of story." Thank you.

I loved the honest and insightful angle on this. It's such a hot topic these days. It's a complex issue; as so often there is a lot of overlap with other issues. There were strong narcissism traits in many of my past relationships and family relations. It can seduce anybody into its orbit. Thankfully, it's now becoming more understood.

When my husband’s (32 years ) fantasy life ,with his wh0re in another city, caught up to the reality that he had a few months left to live with cancer. , it was like he was in a trance, almost unrecognizable..then he came “home”, I took care of him until he died. Although he tried to make amends, He left us with a very painful legacy. It’s been a year now and we’re still devastated by his confessions

Is it possible for a narcissist to study his own disorder through therapy and be lead to develop a method of recovery, or would he simply gain perspective that allows him to manipulate his surroundings more effectively?
