Lemme put in my thoughts as a Native American. To clarify, it wasn't just that it was stereotypical, which it was to be fair. While some tribes do the whole naming convention with things like Running Deer or whatever, not all of them do. In fact, not even a majority of them do so, and as far as i know, its not a naming convention that is used exclusively. Some members use it while others don't. No, the issue is with the name being incredibly tone deaf. One of the biggest events perpetuated against the Native Americans, the one pretty much everyone knows about, is the Trail of Tears. Her name is Trailblazer and she's Native. It comes off poorly. Now, don't get me started on how ugly she is or how stupid her power is, but they speak for themselves. The name thing can confuse people, so that's roughly the reasoning it was so bad

They could be the one who is often called on remotely from their high tech room to give the heroes important information… Like Lain but with less depersonalization and existential dread?? Edit: upon seeing more comments I realize you were referencing a real character and not suggesting one that would seem to fit in with the ones discussed, and that his origin story appears to be confusingly ridiculous sounding.

Master Chief from the Halo Franchise does it whenever he’s fighting a crazy boss fight and his lucky ass finds the one weapon he needs just lying around to land the perfect kill.

The characters weren't meant to be offensive or mocking of SJW culture; quite the opposite. The creator, Daniel Kibblesmith, was pretty active on Tiwtter and proudly far left. His intention was to piss off old fans perceived by Marvel editorial to be alt right. Snowflale and Safespace were meant to be "taking back" their monikers, and Trailblazer was designed to address criticisms that female characters who were overweight and/or had "cutesy" powers weren't logically capable or functioning as superheroes. But yeah, it backfired massively as the video points out. Modern fans felt it was pandering in all the wrong ways and that "ironic" stereotypes were... well, still stereotypes. Old school fans initially took the bait and got upset, but when it became obvious that the whole book was made out of spite for them, they flipped the narrative and pointed out how problematic it was that editorial would back such a project. The whole thing was a clusterfuck.

As a native, this character is craaaaaazy💀💀 “Trailblazer” literally sounds like a reference to the “Trail of Tears” and the fact that they didn’t even give her a “real” super power is also hilarious😭 Like, “LeTs GeT mOrE rEpReSeNtAtIoN!!” *but don’t give them actual powers, now that would be silly* I’m not trying to complain too much, especially since I don’t see enough native representation, but if your gonna make an indigenous super hero, at least make them not entirely useless😭💀 (same with other races, religions, etc.)

Not only that they made her fat 💀!

Fr they should've gave her an ability to temporarily turn into a spiritual god like state or something.

Trailblazer is a reference to Trailblaze. What leap of logic takes you to trail of tears?
