I read a comment on another video that said John went to a McDonalds at night and acted drunk in front of staff for practice. Now I think anyone from a western country knows how drunk you would have to be to get kicked from a maccies. But John did it so well that when he tried to explain himself, they simply refused to believe him 😂 legend!

The funniest part is John Dunsworth was never a drinker All the "alcohol" he drank was iced tea He plays a very convincing sloppy drunk for someone who hardly knew what being drunk is like he's was that good of actor! He however was a recovering gambling addict so those scenes where he plays VLTs (video lottery machines Nova Scotias version of a slot machines) must of been tough though

Two things. He was Nova Scotian. One of the drunkest places on Earth, also the most in denial. Up there with Iran. He also had an admitted addictive personality, gambling in his case. So he knew about it.

I think the liquor stores are actually owned by the Canadian govt or something so they’re just supporting the national economy. Checked IMDB: Mr. Lahey frequently asks Randy if he wants to "hit the LC". It is short for the Nova Scotia Liquor Commission (NSLC). Wherein the provincial government licenses and sells liquor to the citizens of the province.

I saw Randy and Lahey live in Edmonton. The did about a 2 hour show and it was one of the funniest shows I have ever seen. I would say about 75% of it was completely ad lib. At one point Lahey asked someone in the audience for a joint, and he then proceeded to light it up inside an air tight suit he designed. It was the craziest thing I ever saw.
