Here's a fun detail few read about their truck and it's towing capacity: the limit to the weight at the bumper is 5,000lbs, even on 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, unless of course as the manual states, you use a weight distributing hitch. You see them all the time on travel trailers, but rarely on even large boat trailers, usually because the narrow tongue. You'll probably need a pole tongue adapter. We hauled our 895 4 times, and the weight distributing hitch really helped to put the weight back onto the front axle of the truck. All that said, these light weight aluminum trailers are pretty bendy. Watch when they stop at the top of the ramp. There can be lots of flex in the I beams and even with a good tongue weight distribution you'll have more load on the trailer's front axle. Go big on the trailer. Our boat loaded weighed closer to 10,700lbs so a size up on the trailer is always a good idea. Happy cruising and good luck squeezing that 10ft load down the highway.

To answer the question of 'can you', YES. Should you, always depends. I would not recommend this as a boat to trailer every time, but a great option for periodic service, or moving it to new and exciting cruising grounds. If an 895 lives on the trailer, it's almost certainly going to be significantly under used. The process for recovering and securing is not like a 13' whaler. The angle of the ramp and the boat make it very hard to have the hull run parallel to the trailer. If you over tighten the trailer wench, you will end up flexing the trailer and the boat will not be in contact with the rear of the trailer bunks. Getting that alignment correct as well as the fore and aft position to have the desired tongue weight (somewhere between 800 and 1000lbs) is key to a good ride. We had her too tight for our first haul and she was not super stable. On our return, we had her placed nicely with a travel lift and the drive home was much smoother. With that kind of weight (almost 12,500lbs) the right set up is key. Surge brakes are neat, but worthless if she's dragging you backwards down the ramp. Get electric over hydraulic and service them and verify function before you drive off and before you start down the ramp, unless you really want to wash your truck. Good luck

In Florida, boats under 30ft are usually on trailers. Too expensive to have in wet slips.

Hi Guys, i dont want to sound negative, but you should put a disclaimer on this video. you legally cant tow that 895 the way you did, we lifted an 895 recently "with no fuel, but with a few accessories, similar to yours. with the weight of the sling and cradle removed it was 5tonne, so even being super conservatives with engines the 895 manual states its 4tonne. with the weight of the trailer, you are over 4.5t, the towhitch 70mm ball is max weighted at 4.5t, to tow it legally you would need an airbraked trailer with a pintle receiver rated, 2500 series american pick ups are often rated to 6-6.5 with the correct hitch reciver and pintle. or gooseneck, so you will need a rated tow vehicle. with an adr hitch with an airbraked trailer, and a light rigid at least lisence. im only mentioning this so people are aware of what you can and cant do with the 895 to be legal and safe To american viewers.... go nuts... you can tow anything with a golf buggy up there :P

Very interested in the answer, but disappointed with the lack of depth. Northside marine would have been able to provide great depth to the answer if you asked them. You could have included video from behind the boat as its being towed on Brisbane's roads, to see the clearance within the lane. What sort of permit do you need? Cost?

Hi Adam, I didn't really want to go into permits and costs because that only really refers to QLD, the rules are completely different around the world. But thanks for your feedback.

Interesting Video. Just proves the point that transporting an 895 by road is best left to the professional’s. By the way what was your fuel and water load? did you remove any other equipment to lighten the load? Surprised Brooke stayed on board for the lift. Bad place to be if boat slipped. Great to see another 895 video though! Hope you will continue your series on berthing and undocking from tight places. Weather still looks good in Queensland ! Best regards

Hi John, the opportunity for this video came up really quickly so we had to act fast. I definitely wouldn't want to be doing a lift out that often, I agree, leave it to those that do it every day. Even then we still bottomed out. Didn't get the boat on the scales but we had about half fuel and about half water, so would have been around that 4.5T mark. Brooke was up there with the puppies so they didn't get in the way. I wasn't the best idea and she came down after that first movement. Weather is great, just need the boat back from service! How goes the UK summer?

@@TheRudder Thanks Damien. In the U.K. we had a fantastic June for weather and boating. However July has been a bit if a was out with lots of rain and Atlantic lows bringing in strong winds. Fingers crossed for Autumn! Are you having any mods or further improvements while the boat is being serviced? Best regards to you both and the puppies

I have a 795 which has been on a trailer a few times for delivery and service but I wouldn’t do it regularly. The 895 is considerably bigger and heavier so I don’t think it should be attempted on a trailer. A flat bed truck would be safer.
@TheRudder

I agree not a regular occurrence but can be down safely with a bigger enough truck and trailer. The flatbed option requires a lot more money and trouble with a lift out facility at both ends. Not really practical for us.

I tow one with a Jeep gladiator 😂 it’s not that heavy. My toy hauler weighs more
