Where is the best place to mount one of these ? Sxs blog did one of these along with a rzr back and while driving the temp varied 30 to 40 degrees consistently and they mounted theirs in the cvt exhaust

So this is just reading belt housing exhaust air temperature, not actually reading the temperature of the belt, correct?

Exactly, however there was only a couple degree difference from the belt to the exhaust housing. It was still very accurate.

How do you know that without directly reading the belt temperature? What are typical temperatures you would see during average riding with your setup?

Thats not what I saw in other tests. It was closer tp 20-30 degrees snd kinda logarithmic making it hard to reconcile. Also by the time you warm up the air in the clutch housing the belt is already damaged. Used to be the best solution out there, but not any more.
