Always keep the regulator (the red one) at 100% and adjust the reverser only if you want maximum speed....don't adjust both when trying to accelerate. And raise the brake % until it says 'Running', that will make it easier to keep steam pressure up.

The 30mph speed limit is for piping under the track, I don't know why. But I was on the fellsman and they said it was due to piping under going through the banking under the track. Probably for the first time Train Simulator being quite realistic!

I did one of those quick drives with 15 coaches and got over all the gradients and finished in 30 minutes

Did you know that they burned lots of Egyptian mummys back than in the old days when steam locomotives were in use? *gggg Nom nom nom looks like it wants to be fed with mummys.....nomnomnom :D Hmmm I am still not fully satiesfied with the background/environment graphics of the newest Train Simulator, the vegetation should be way more dense, the empty green should be filled with some genereric grass for perfect nature graphics experience. Maybe there will be Add-On scenarios with some fine complete new vegetation features. But the cockpits look almost perfect. Oh and I am sure you will like the Class A4 Pacific which is the speed record holder for steam locos and has a truly uniquè design. And if you like a litte creepy landscapes through the England`s and Scottish bogs inside a modern train with a beautyful small and detailed cockpit, I recommend the Tilting Voyager Add-on train and the Western Lines of Scotland scenario in the evening with rain. :)

electric high speed trains are the best- no fuel - his-speed is literally in the title - and japans shinkansen holds a record of 0 deaths and 0 injuries aboard their trains, even during earthquakes, if you want to know how look it up.

Might I suggest in the future when going down hill in a steam loco to put the reverser into the negatives and using some throttle to slow and keep your speed ;)

What if someone created a National Railway Museum in York map and you could do shunting scenarios with a class 08 and you had to shunt locomotives around the NRM

In one of these train simulator games is an option to do a custom scenario where I can set a route say from Liverpool lime Street to crewe
