Wow - this just flashed up in my feed - brings back memories. I remember this channel when it was around 1,000 subs, and you've come a long way, I've been very busy and regrettably I must've forgot about the channel at some point along the way - it'll be nice to catch up on what I've missed and I look forward to seeing more quality content in the future!!

Well hey there! It's good to see you here in the comments again. I know you've been following this channel for quite some time, and I hope you enjoy catching up on some of the newer content. I've had to slow down a bit with video releases due to university and life commitments, but I've got lots of video plans for this summer. :)

Small tip for learning foreign languages: watch tv shows or the news from that respective language. Especially helps with pronunciation and understanding the grammar

Overtaking slower trains is usually done in stations but there might be cases where the timetable is designed to permit overtaking on the line between stations. I witnessed it on the Leipzig - Dresden line; at one time I was on the slow train being passed by an ICE in Winter with the fast train trailing snow behind it. It looked great!

@siemens4072
@siemens4072 7 жыл бұрын
PTGRail Oh yes they do! Just not the ICE 2. The ICE T runs services from Munich to Hamburg via Leipzig and from Frankfurt and Erfurt via Bitterfeld to Berlin. There are also a nice amount of IC trains and an EC (EuroCity), which runs from Hamburg to Prague ( Berlin Hbf and Jüterbog with stops in Hbf and Südkreuz). There are also some ICE 1 services from Hamburg or Berlin to Leipzig. The ICE 2 ran until recently just between Berlin Hbf and Gesundbrunnen due to a massive redevelopment along its usual Path. After December 2017 you can also expect ICE 4 services, because of a new High-Speed Line between Erfurt and Nuremburg.

Another enjoyable video, Peter. Your commentary and the images outside the cab were great as usual, but I am afraid that on this occasion, the POV was too far back to read the letters and numbers on the dashboard, or the trackside signs and signals if the train was moving above slow speed, on a 15 inch laptop full screen.

Great Video! I also have a tip I haven't watched the full video yet so I don't know if you have said it in the video but the Signalsystem (with that I don't mean PZB and LZB but the signal aspects) are different from the system you explained in the German signalling tutorial video, Berlin-Leipzig was pretty much only in the former DDR (East Germany) where they used the HL-Signalling-System (not the HV-Signalling-System which is used in West Germany on routes like München-Augsburg). After the reunifictation DB began to replace the HL-System (which had like 15 aspects) with the KS-System (which is used on this route). The KS-System is I believe the simplest of all German systems. There are really only 3 aspects I think, these are Proceed (Fahrt, Ks1), At this aspect you may also indicate a speed reduction (digital number displaying on the so called Zs3 / Zs3v), it would still be the same aspect, if the speed limit was reducted however the green light would be flashing; there is Expect stop (Halt erwarten, Ks 2) that's just a yellow light; and there is Halt (Stop, Hp0), the term Hp0 is actually except of the semaphore shunt signals UNIVERSAL for all stop aspects regardless of what signalling system the signal actually belongs to. There are actually two types of KS-Signals if you can call it like that. There is (like in the HV-System) a variation that uses main and distant signals, and a variation that is called "Mehrabschnittssignal" which is basically Main- and Distantsignal combined in one signal. You can by the way identify a distant signal by the Ne2-Sign (which looks like a black X on a white board). So it would be actually quite helpful if you would have pointed that out, but as I said at the beginning, it was a great video! (TL;DR: The signals used are different from the signals he showed in the Signalling tutorial because in Germany there are MANY types of signals)

@derdoppelpunkt2857
@derdoppelpunkt2857 7 жыл бұрын
They were quite interesting. Teltow for example is pronounced Teltoo, so a long O at the end, while Trebbin has a short E due to the double B. Until now it is quite good!
@PTGRail
@PTGRail 7 жыл бұрын
That is interesting. It's difficult to know how to pronounce some English places, and I live here! So it's certainly harder for German with another language involved. I will try and bear those pronunciations in mind. :)

At 1:02:00: That is realistic, if the route is designed for it and the main track is blocked. That could be a train or just a jammed crossing point.

Hi, Upon passing the 2000hz magnet, you have 23 seconds to reduce speed below the (flashing) speed limit for your train category (in this case 85km/hr) before penalty braking.
@derdoppelpunkt2857
@derdoppelpunkt2857 7 жыл бұрын
If you pass the 2000 Hz Magnet you will instantly get a penalty breaking, if this magnet is active. You mean the 1000 Hz magnet ;)

REgarding your "issue" with the emergency breaking after acknowledging the pzb: you need to slow down within 20 seconds to the PZB-Type speed. So if you're a passenger train it's 85, fast freight 70 and slow freight 60 kph.
@PTGRail
@PTGRail 5 жыл бұрын

I have a GTX 980 which is a powerful card, similar in performance to a 1060. When recording, I lock the frame rate to 30fps to try and make it more consistent, but it seems that recording affects the game's performance and causes lag that is not present when I'm driving normally.

The LBZ (is that right) system is good not only for maintaining the correct speed, but also compensating for changes in elevation...or would you prefer to drive so you would need to keep the speed even? That section on the 'wrong line' was certainly long, and seemingly dangerous.

This German route looks much better than Berlin-Wittenberg route. I really hate Berlin-Wittenberg Route because... 1. This route does not go to Leipzig HBF. 2. The Overhead Lines are look bad. 3. There is no Quick Drive scenario. 4. There is no IC car and RE160-doppelstock set, but only the non-passenger view double Decker coaches without cab car. 5. There is no scenery on S-Bahn line 6. There is a faulty LZB on the line. And 7. The speed limits are very faulty and does not shown up properly. So six words; Get The Berlin To Leipzig Route! If anyone gets the Berlin To Leipzig route, then the line between Berlin and Wittenberg would be the same but with Leipzig extension, the Quick Drive scenario for the northbound and southbound, IC car and RE160-doppelstock set, scenery on S-Bahn line, fixed LZB, and the good quality speed limits. Maybe I should use it with the DB ICE TD, ICE T, or the DB 101 with IC push-pull set for the northbound by starting at Leipzig HBF all the way to Berlin Gesundbrunnen. Keep it up PTGRail.
