Stepney is London Brighton South Coast Railway. Later adopted into the Southern Railway.

Stepney was originally from the London Brighton and South Coast Railway, just like Thomas, which was absorbed into the Southern Railway during the grouping. Then came BR and Stepney was sent to a scrap yard in the 1960s. Soon he was rescued by the Bluebell Railway and that’s where he stays today. Nice video and I hope this helped you.

Stepney the Bluebell Engine is actually one of the few "Thomas" characters who actually were a real train before the series was even created, built in 1875 and got a major refit/rebuild in 1912. He was decommissioned in 1960 (leading to his story in "Thomas & Friends"). IRL he was the first standard-gauge locomotive to be restored and preserved in the UK (1962? Citation needed), being used for many "Day Out With Thomas" events, although as of 2014 he's been awaiting work on his frame, boiler and main steam pipe and thus has been once again taken out of commission. EDIT: He says in 2019 before realizing this video was uploaded in 2017

The percentage of brakes doesn't always affect the amount you actually brake. On the HUD to the right of the controls, you have the brake pipe pressure. The highest it can go is 25.0/21.0hg, (inches of mercury) depending on the engine. 25.0/21.0 inches of mercury means the brakes are released and 0.0 inches of mercury means the brakes are fully applied. Just a heads up :)

Heya LaZeR, you should use the Maerdy route. Much gentler and you can reach alomost 120 with a 42xx and 15 wells with a Toad brake van.

Stepney started life as a standard A1 but was one of the 17 A1's selected to be converted into A1X's, the changes made him more modern and more powerful. But unlike his A1X classmates, he was not reverted to normal A1's and stays like this to this day.
