To fill in lazer’s missing knowledge about the shinkansen he is driving. The shinkansen that is in this video is called the E5 series Shinkansen. Or so known as the Hayabusa. The speed of this train when carrying passenger is 320km/h. They mainly run from between Tokyo and Hokkaido. (The one in the race is the H5 series. They are the same as E5 but just have a purple lining instead of pink.) Hope this information is useful

Uhhhh, when the Series E5 and H5 reach the Hokkaido Shinkansen line, it's limited to 260 km/h, and 140 km/h when traveling through the Seikan Tunnel, the longest rail tunnel in the world, linking the island of Honshu and Hokkaido

It was always going to be the shinkansen as the winner. Distributed traction just has too many advantages in a situation like this. The reason the shinkansen accelerates so much better is due to the ability to get more power to the rails. When all your power is only a few axles, that power actually has to be limited to keep traction. Smaller motors across all axles means you're moving everything simultaneously, no pulling or pushing required.

Remember the Eurostar E300 (class 373) is a lot older than the Shinkansen E5 (Japan bullet train) so if you had the modern version of the Eurostar (Eurostar E320(class 374)) then I bet Eurostar have a much better chance of winning

@@eramferguson1701 Probably in real life....The E5 Shinkansen have 9600kW for 10 cars, and the Class 373 (Eurostar) have 12500kW for 18 cars....But the Class 373 was built in 1993 and it is a power concentrated, less effective for starting. For a better comparison,the latest Duplex built from 2011 is more logical.And Series 700 Duplex is very powerfull .It's can leave a 450m lenght platform in 45s with 16 car (and 4 motor car).

If you want to know what the Japanese bullet train is called, it's known as the E5 Series, operated by the East Japan Railway Company, or JR East

Coming up, I eat a cabbage, ricjard tests a truck and james glides on snow so lemme guess uuh ehem I eat a steam valve, laser gets the rocket to 200Mph and the programmer puts the bullet train to 1000 percent power

The "bullet train" is called Shinkansen. The series you are showcasing is E5 Hayabusa Actually at 7:23 that is H5 which is a variant of E5 that is designed for the Hokkaido Shinkansen. Also you can tell the difference between E5 and H5 by the colored strip on the side. Pink:E5 Purple:H5 Actually for the rest of the video you are using H5

I've been on the Japanese Shinkansen....I went from Tokyo to Kagoshima...last year in Jan...Watching them fly through stations is a real buzz...Some clocked over 200 mph through stations...Some are 400 meters plus long and go past in a flash!.

Nice race and I like both trains to be honest. However for a more equal race. Maybe the ICE4 vs the Japanese train would be interesting as the ICE4 has more traction motors.

The Shinkansen won despite its top speed being limited. This suggests that increasing acceleration rather than maximum speed will lead to time savings. If the N700S series participates in this race, no one will be able to win.

The Japanese bullet train’s names are the E1, E2, E3, E4, E5, E6 and the E7. But the one your driving is the most famous one, the E5

There’s also the O series which was the original “Bullet train” then the 100, 200, 300, 400, 500 (my personal favourite Shinkansen), N700 and N700S

What I don't like about the bullet train is how dumbed-down it is. You are limited with how fast you go, and you have only a couple of controls. The Eurostar, however, has tons of controls to tinker with and it feels like an actual train, rather than a toy train.

The Eurostars is actually a euroduplex type of trains. The Eurostar is a type of tgv model.

If the Shinkansen (bullet train) you have has purple lining it means that it is H5 if it has pink lining it is the E5 but there’s no difference between the E5 and H5
