@ I haven't actually experienced private train but private train carriages we used more than 20 years ago to take our team or customers to some events. For instance we took private train carriage from Helsinki directly to Lahti kisakeskus to see the Salpausselän kisat.

long distance transportatation type ( in Finland ) would be plane. But quite expensive here so in long journeys it is train. Short ones like Turku-Helsinki it´s bus :) unless train is faster and I´m in hurry. :)

Yeah the Finnish trains are comfy, for a couple hours. I did my military service high up in northern Finland, back then the train journeys to home felt endless, I couldn't use the sleeping cars. Now I would take a plane :) Pon, thanks for the video!

@ Airfields are newer in the town centers where many people are going or where there are more connecting services to other regional places. Trains win on that aspect. During pandemics airports and planes are a bit challenging places compared to trains. People going to Lapland from Helsinki can often get in the sleeping carriages whole two bed department alone, where they have private bathroom and no other passengers to share their air. Sleeping in train and waking in Lapland is a benefit compared to those who rush to airports in the morning, go through check-in and then sit in the pipe, as some prefer to call airplanes. Each mode of travel is useful, and I rarely am in a situation where I really can choose none based on just some generic preference. A luxury taxi drive can also be interesting with really good bed like seats to enable sleeping. It gives possiblity to visit restaurants and other places along the ride. But that is a expensive way to travel.

Have you ever been to Lahti? You should come visit. A day trip by train. All attractions within walking distance of the train station. The best time of the year is of course summer, Lahti is a summer city. On the other hand, in winter you can engage in many winter activities here.

*Nice video:* Finnish trains are indeed comfortable, convenient, and cheap. Lappeenranta is a lovely city. Among many things to see, there is an old fort near the harbour with museum, and a beautiful old-style cafe. There are market fairs, and music on the quay, plus plenty of bars and kiosks where you can get drinks and delicious greasy snacks. Saimaa canal nearby also has a small museum that is worth a quick look. As for one a transport recommendation, the ultimate Finnish experience is to take a ferry to Sweden, of course!

_Nice to see what long distance train is like in Finland. I take the train to work everyday but I just realised I haven't taken long distance train even after living in Finland for so many years. Gotta try it one day 🙂__

Yes it’s pretty good 👍🏻

it’s so good you don’t even have to use wifi on the train to get on the internet. In Finland, all telephone subscriptions include unlimited Internet. 4G runs at 100-600mbps and 5G even faster. In Finland, mobile data is used the most in the world and this is probably due to the fact that Nokia continues to develop network devices and Finland is the first place where Nokia's latest technologies will be installed first.

There seems to be some forms of public transportation missing from your list: Boat taxes, boat lines, cable ferries, helicopter services, shared cars, private trains and funicular.
