This Filly has tried everything to deter me from desensitizing her especially to touch. Mocha (we Just named her) is learning slowly to trust me and to be obedient and respectful. Each day she's improving in the normal exercises and learning important new lessons! This video is not a full video of all the training (that would be more than 5 hours long) but simply an overview of the most entertaining moments. Mocha started out a dangerous and disrespectful horse and by the end of thugs video she's a calm respectful young horse! Now that she's improved so much we'll let her grow up a bit more and then in a few months start her under saddle!
Thanks for watching guys!

Such a beautiful filly. You and Free Spirit Equestrian are my favorite horse people, including others horse people who don't spread negativity on how horses are starting, unless the person are abusing them. Thinking about it, people think horses get hurt on purpose all the time during starting when that isn't always the case. Horses can accidentally get hurt by a really nice trainer, but we can't blame the horse because it's like how kids get hurt accidentally when they're learning something. There are days where starting a horse can be rough, mainly because the horse doesn't want to listen or perhaps they're nervous or something. And it's important to let them know what we tell them, and if they don't do as they're told, you get them to do it, like getting them to trot. Ask for them to trot, and keep asking as many times possible, tell, then make - in a firm and gentle as possible manner. It's like parents with children. Parents ask their kids to do something as many times as they can, then tell them, then make them if their kids aren't doing what they're told. By the way, lots of horses would do what they're ask once, it just depends on the horse as long they're not being forced.

I would not have believed it if you had asked me if this was the same Mocha you had shown on the first day! And I really appreciate the time you spent on making these videos for us. A little request, If you could place a time clock at the corner of the video so we can really see how much effort and time you spend on Mocha each day/session.

Thank you my friend! Would that be a total time spent time clock? For example on day 2 it would show 2hours 15 minutes or something like that?

yes it could be like this or it could be like you started at 8:00 AM in the morning and when you finish the session it's 10:15 AM@@HorsePerfect

Mocha has made some wonderful progress! She's a smart horse and now she's much more eager to please you. I like how you present them with new obstacles, such as, the log, the ditch, the water and the rock. I think it makes their training more interesting because it keeps their minds engaged. Having obstacles to navigate may even give them a sense of accomplishment. I enjoyed the video, thanks for sharing.

How many hours would you do ground work with a young horse or a horse that’s already been saddled and ridden? Love your content that you’re creating! 🎉

Thanks so much! I do 1 hour per day until they learn the essentials. Then whenever I ride or work with them I always do between 2-15 minutes of groundwork with the horse before proceeding. It helps them pay attention and listen to me, warms them up and its a great reminder of who is the leader for the horse.
