Hey Guys welcome back to my channel for a very "pinch me" vlog as we were kindly invited to be part of Animalife's influencer day at the ONE and ONLY Piggy March's yard! you guys can probably imagine just how excited I have been to share this with you all.
Because I got to much footage I wanted to share with you all I have split the day down into 2 parts so make sure you're subscribed and got the bell ticked so you're notified when part 2 goes live. Addie was much more on my side once we started jumping which will all be in part 2!
Huge thank you to Animalife for the invite, make sure you check out their range at:- www.animalife.co.uk
The discounts I mentioned in the video are FEN5 and FEN10 at checkout when buying the Vetrofen and get sachets for free.
Thank you for watching and as always hope you guys enjoy the video. Don’t forget to hit that 👍 if you do! Your support means so much to me.
Sprite - 28 year old, 14.3hh, Chestnut Mare
Addie - 6 year old, 15.3hh, Buckskin Mare
Nala - 2 year old, Working Cocker Spaniel

Well done, well ridden and thanks for always being such an inspiration. It’s great to see other horses not just being “perfect”! It makes you feel like we are all on the journey together and lots to learn from watching you ride. She looks beautiful when it’s all going to plan. Huge well done for always staying positive and riding positively - you are a real role model as I think we all know how easy it is to get frustrated and annoyed. Well done again 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Great video Em. Great riding. I had a mare just like Addie, not responsive to the leg at all. You can carry a schooling whip, that would be fine. Squeeze and if she doesn't respond, tap her. If you make it immediately from not responding to your leg, she will learn the leg means move. But that's just my opinion. You ride beautifully and Addie is doing great. Great video.

I'm a big believer of have a whip because if you don't need it, great but it's better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Well ridden Em. At 6 they become like lazy teenagers… clear expectations… yes/no… rhythm rhythm rhythm… keeps them moving forward. We liked riding with radio playing nearby… helps keep rhythm and most songs about 2 minutes long… perfect length interval for younger horses. 😊 (Addie really wasn’t that bad just letting you know she’s got a working mind/opinion)

@@emdeventing might I recommend Led Zeppelin’s Whole Lotta Love as a great song to use on playlist 😉 lots of different rhythms in song (walk/trot and canter work), a longer song, and well because Zeppelin ROCKS) before you know it you’ll have an epic Addie playlist 🧡🧡🧡🧡

Honestly? As much as it would feel wonderful to come out and have everything be perfect, it's actually way more useful to have Addie demonstrate a little typical unrideability, so that Piggy could offer help. And I bet when you watched the footage you thought to yourself, "Wow, that actually looks much better than I thought it would." She was super for a good portion of it. You rode her very well ("Well ridden Ems" - how awesome to hear that from Piggy!!!) and Piggy offered tools and insight for improvement. To me, that's a successful endeavor!

The way I look at it, it’s good if a horse misbehaves at a clinic. Then the clinician can really dig in and help you. You rode through that really well. I have a 7-year-old mare, and Piggy is right, that’s when they get very opinionated and full of themselves. So I think it was perfect the way it happened.

Shes in the "i know whats going on" phase. The more greenies you ride the more used to that phase you get. With some horses its worse than others but they all go through it.

Addie is having her teen moments isn't she! But well ridden and Piggy's comments so helpful - funny how she did seem so much happier in canter. We always think progress walk-trot-canter in warmup but Piggy's right - if she's happier and more forward in canter then why not walk then canter if that gets her thinking forward on a nappy day?
