A Weekend of TransPennine services at Huddersfield, heading around the South Pennines, United Kingdom. Trains include:
- Transpennine Express Nova 3 (Class 68 + Mk5As)
- 68s - Built in 2013/17
- Mk5A Coaches - Built in 2017/18
- Northern Railway Class 150s
- 150/0s - Built in 1984/87 (Three Car Units)
- 150/2s - Built in 1986/87
- Northern Railway Class 156s
- 156/4s - Built in 1987/89
- TransPennine Express Class 185s
- 185/1 - Built in 2006/07
- TransPennine Express Nova 1 Class 802s
- 802/2 - Built in 2017/18 - Diesel & Electric - Five Car Units

Train Numbers - e.g. 43032 or 800110 - These are train numbers which are specific to that train. No trains can be numbered the same. Locos are 5 digit numbers where the first two numbers are the class of train e.g. 67010 would be a class 67. Multiple Units are 6 digit numbers where the first three numbers are the class of train e.g. 390154 would be a class 390. Click Here to learn more

Headcodes - e.g. 1F32 or 5M00 - These are used by the railway signallers to determine where trains are on the network. Every train within a region has a specific four code ID. Click Here to learn more

Set Number - e.g. WB64 or NL04 - These are semi-permanent loco hauled coach formations which are kept together for formalities. The first two letters usually indicate the maintenance depot responsible e.g. OC is Old Oak Common, LA is Laira. The number indicates the rake number.

Brilliant video Ross. I think we should start a petition to have a statue built here of Felix and Bolt, rest in peace Felix. Also, if you're looking for a good station in Kent anytime i would recommend Tonbridge!

Thanks Duaine, this was my last opportunity to catch the 68s in service with TPE. I think more stations should have host cats and in the early 1900s, it was very common! It seems to have become a thing of the past.

It’s hardly changed since the days of loco hauled trains. The TransPennine Route Upgrade project will change it a lot over the next few years though so maybe I’ll return once all the works have been completed 🙂 Thank you Samuel!

Absolutely beautiful day that was. Ironically it seems that just as you were finishing off your recording session, I was starting mine just a few stops down at Dewsbury 😂. Apart from that coincidence, love some of the traffic that runs on this line, and love your content mate. Keep it up!

I’ve been on this route over 50 times and it’s always a great time. The 185s are easily the best DMUs in Great Britain

Everything's diesel, everything's late...yep, that's the North of England, alright -though from what I gather, they were at least showing up, which is an improvement. Also, what's up with the Freightliner 156?

I can only film the ones that did turn up! There was meant to be another 68 but it was cancelled. The Freightliner operated 156 was a movement from Wolverton where it was refurbished (this is also why it was so clean!)

Aw man, I was gutted to hear about the loss of Felix. I remember there was a book wrote on felix, “Felix the railway cat”. That’s a real shame, lived a great life tho. Still, lovely video 🙂

Oh man, RIP Felix, hurts a lot that he is gone, may he rest in peace. Sorry to say, painful to watch with the last days of the Nova 3 sets. Way too quiet now wih class 185 dominating on the Scarborough York's. Nevertheless, a lovely video to watch :-)

I've watched tonnes of your videos and noticed that the trains usually aren't late, or as late as UK railway system stereotypically is. They're usually on time or a couple of minutes early but in this one they're all late??? Some of them by 20 minutes or more?? I had read that this TOC was notorious for it too
